ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC" part 3

Inappropriate Language
It's like a $hite world cup knowing that the most despised cuntry* in the world are going to win.
Football every day but games lacking in excitement or atmosphere. Most games are the equivalent of Algeria Vs Iran in terms of how much anyone outside of those countries care.

* Spelled incorrectly as it is seems to be as fitting to miss out the "o" to describe our dear neighbours as the use of the *.

I was out with the missus at a friend's this afternoon/evening. For the first time in living memory I didn't follow one if our games on the radio, internet, tv results service or anything. At around 10 I looked at my phone for the score, not fearing the worst, not with a tingle of excitement that we might have won.

I saw a 0-0 and the most telling thing was- they used the 5 subs the league now permit to allow those with deepest pockets to get the advantage. We didn't. Moral victory to us as always. But really, truly I didn't have a weekend ruined by football. It's over. The season's over, it's the summer, its cricket season now.

I'll look again in september with optimism. By late September VAR will be reminding me it's used only to benefit certain teams, by october I'll remember the league is just a scripted branding exercise where whatever team is most saleable to the armchair fan ay that moment will succeed. By november I'll have lost interest again .

It was a beautiful game once - and that beauty can still he found in the history books.

Spot on Chris...despite everything I still love EFC but despise what the game has become...just read Baz Rathbone's book. and he has some harsh words about the modern game..even though he left us in 2010. Perhaps guys like Rashford can have a better influence, and EITC have been a superb part of our club...

After 50 years of seeing the Blues..this season will probably my last S/T....health problems are the main reason but I have fallen out of love with a game I was passionate about..Your final sentence sums up my feelings...;)

Like some people have already said on here, I didn't watch it, it was a complete joke it was essentially a competitive Pre Season game, had a hard time explaining to some RS why it was just like a friendly played in Austria, he didn't understood the point I was making. They should of just void the season, because frankly it's just a joke, I did switch on when Davies hit the post, when i was flicking through the channels, but to be honest would I have been bothered if we'd won? Not really.

Just had a look at the comments in response to that Guardian article regarding the season ending as an anticlimax for them

One absolute balloon animal actually wrote this with what would appear to be a straight face:

' Liverpool's lofty league position might suggest otherwise, but injuries have been unkind to the reds this season...'

I mean, I know it shouldn't surprise me by now, but REALLY?? UNKIND??:Blink:
