ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

The Spanish named lad from Watford's putting up a spirited diversion here. There'll be similar fanatics planted on various football forums acrss the country. All trying to distract from the central point...that LFC management, players and fans support are thick as **** and support/condone racist actions.

A little vignette on our favourite Uruguayan

I'm from Groningen and Suarez tried to leave my club through what we call the arbitration committee. I don't know if you have it England but it's a special part of the FA that can force a transfer in special circumstances. Suarez went there with some Ajax lawyers and his argument basically was that my ****ty provincial club was of too lowly status for his greatness. The arbitration committee's ruling was something along the lines of "Please stop bothering us Mr. Suarez". So I have experienced Suarez in an idiotic case before and have no love for him for it.....

The weird thing is they try to defuse the situation with the words that he used racist language but isn't racist, something you repeat. But it's an absolutely absurd argument. Surely using racist language says something about the person saying it? This is trying to flee out of the situation with very cheap semantics. According to Evra's testimony he said "I kicked you because you are black" and "I don't talk to black people" What exactly do you have to say before you are a racist if not that? Is showing up in a KKK costume also just wearing racist outfits not actually being a racist? Don't be absurd, please.

You couldn't make that up. Liverpool are asking United to 'work with them' so Suarez's likely return match against them doesn't turn ugly.

I'm confused: isn't it Liverpool's supporters who've been gnawing their own hands off and ratchetting up the tension; and isn't it Libpoolfc, and Dalglish in particular, who's been fanning the flames with their t-shirt stunt and full backing of their player regardless of an FA judgement that they said they'd accept before it was given? What's all this got to do with United?

It's great seeing them in that JCB at the bottom of a 30 foot crater digging furiously away.

Lol!

Dalglish is the one who started defaming Evra and dug the larger crater they're in

Now they're saying "work with us"

I never cease to be amazed by their audacity

Its typified by the comments you hear from the likes of Aldridge or Gonzo Phil Thompson.

They talk ****e, and it'll be them screaming that they're all innocent when Suarez DID give Evra racist abuse and LFC DID go on some illogical illegal immoral campaign on his behalf and condoned it.

The pressure is on, this time from FARE (Football Against Racism in Europe)

Piara Powar, executive director of European football's anti-discrimination body FARE, said the FA should charge Liverpool with bringing the game into disrepute.

Here's what he said;

"I think the FA should come back now and be very clear that Liverpool could be construed to have brought the game into disrepute by the way in which they have consistently undermined the judgement and by Kenny Dalglish's comments.

"Liverpool have been too keen to support their man and in doing so have whipped up a sense of paranoia amongst their fans.

"This is not the Liverpool FC that we have applauded in the past for their support for a whole range of issues.

"The responses from Kenny Dalglish have been undignified, the way in which they have dealt with the whole matter has been unprofessional.

"For the club to so aggressively militate against what looks to most people is a considered judgement from the FA leads to a potential for anarchy."

Powar said reaction from his colleagues in other parts of the world made him believe the affair was damaging Liverpool. He added: "They have damaged their brand, no question.

"There is no question that Liverpool do have a global appeal, but I have emails from colleagues in Africa asking me what the hell is going on.

"I think people will be watching this and I believe there is no question that their plans for global expansion will have been damaged by this.

"That's not to say they cannot come back from this but it has done them a lot of damage and they have not conducted themselves in a very palatable way."

Quite right. They have on at least three counts:

A. Dalglish's first illegal response
B. The t-shirts in support of a racist
C. The refusal to apologise; despite not appealing - and a defacto admission of guilt

The thing that annoys me, is that the whole argument is that he used the 'word' negro like we'd say 'black'. However, the fact that he said 'I don't talk to you because you are black' is a racist statement which has nothing to do with what word he used he used to describe evra's skin colour.

It's a bit like sayin', lets forget about the gun and the fella holding it, it's the bullet causing the offence.

You are on a sticky wicket trying to understand their antics by applying logic - you'll just end up with a headache. SUAREZ IS INNOCENT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111one

When questioned at the club's press conference on Friday on reports that Liverpool would like peace talks, Ferguson said: "It is nice of them to do it through the press.

"You would have thought they would come to Manchester United first. I do not see why there is any need for it but I have nothing to say about it."
