I went to school with Baines mate, and played in the same All Saints side as him. Baines' dad is still a red, but he doesn't mind Bainesy being a blue. Bit different that.
Oh I thought otherwise.

Wait hang on you went to school with Baines... Waht was he like at that age? I'm guessing dead quiet....

Really quiet, really sound lad from Form 7S/7N (I forget which). Always let on to everyone, don't have a bad word to say about him. Played up front for All Saints in Kirkby and dropped to left wing every now and again, never a left back. Didn't seem blessed with pace back them (I was honestly quicker than him, beat him regularly in sports day, not bragging, just fact!) but had an exemplary attitude. He was ALWAYS a blue - any crap rumours about him being a red are just that - wore an Everton shirt to training and bleep tests etc.

Good to know that, a few of the teachers still maintain he's a red.

Personally, if I were a pro and playing for Liverpool, I'd have made it clear I was a Blue at heart but giving everything for the club I was at.

I despise Phil Neville for example, but not for being a Man Utd fan. He was always a Manc, and all power to him, and if he ever pretended to be a Blue I'd despise him 10x worse. I despise him for being a brown nosing horror, that's all.

Apparently every time Steve McManaman scored a headed goal in a Melwood training match he wheeled away yelling "Latch~forrrrddddd....."...

I went there when it was St Kevins. Didn't know Baines was an ex-student. My claim to fame classmate was Tommy Caton (google FFS). He was a really good lad and a good friend of John Coleman (Accrington Stanley). I always liked John but I've heard on here (I think) that he isn't the bloke he was.
