The added pressure from all those ultra wannabes meeting the bus chanting "we're gonna win the league" and hanging jarg banners over the walls at Melwood caused their players to absolutely bottle it when they looked like they were going to stroll to the title.

exactly what i was thinking - they shouldve been second or third every year for the last decade or so on that logic.

But instead they spent £35m on Andy Carroll. Can you imagine what roberto could do with JUST that amount? Not including the Downing, Adam etc money, JUST the andy carroll money. And they still haven't won it. Brilliant stuff.
