but when you stop and think about it, they actually did win something this season though,

as the media liked to point out time and again, they won the hearts and minds of the neutrals

and you can't put a price on that,

no I mean you really can't put a price on it

like it's literally worthless

anyhoo, I for one will never forget the joy they've brought me this season,

I'm still grinning now FFS

It seems unkind to focus just on the shin pads, but what on earth!!

Alan Pardew got that huge 8 year contract after he became Manager of the Season and we all know how successful he's been afterwards. I reckon the same will happen to dear old Brenda.

It's their propensity for acting like bad bad tits. They want to win for two things: reflected glory on their pitiful lives and to gloat.

So when they were preparing the parade on beating Chelsea, and rolling out Luis Garcia to rub it in before, Mourinho struck one in the eye for decency. They're still paining bad. They were proclaiming the league win as bigger than Istanbul. Then Crystanbul trumped them!

See stuff like this, this was going to be one hundred fold this summer.

Ha Ha. It's gonna be 18OTTLED IT for another decade.

Mate I was certain. They had such a big lead with so few games left. Had to play for a draw against Chelsea then romp the rest of the games like they had done all season. I was ready to avoid Facebook for a few months just so I didn't have to hear it.

I still pinch myself when i think about it. It's one of the biggest anti-achievements in the history of the sport

Same mate, after Norwich I was preparing to do similar. Couldn't see how they'd possibly fail to win it. Seeing Chelsea's team before that game at Anfield as well, I thought the stars had aligned for them. I believed they'd be champions by the final whistle at Selhurst.

What followed will be fondly remembered by the rival fan and the neutral for a very, very long time. The kopites won't even be able to forget either, as that Gerrard song has caught right on. Every time they play, that song will get an airing or three.

That is what makes it sooo special for me. They utterly believe that every one wanted them to win the thing. NOT ONE fan of any club I know, big and small, wanted it. Not one. Classic sporting collapses are, well, part of why sport is ace, but that delusion over the park is just so wonderful to witness. And unique to them.
