ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

No point in quoting the money they've spent on players who don't make the squad, they'll always have money to spend.

Best part of £20M spent on those duds.

Liverpool - doing it for all us poor clubs and taking on dee oil clubs who spend money like a drunken sailor...hold on....

Ignoring this summer, he's spent £100m and only 2 of the players signed (Sturridge and Coutinho) were an improvement to their first XI

The rest are a collection of average or worse squad players - £80m worth of them, dem oil clubs tho....

Even Sturridge he took grudgingly. http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2013/jan/03/daniel-sturridge-liverpool

Great judge of player our Brendan. Coutinho is the only one of the 16 he's bought so far who he wanted and has proved a success.

That;s a stunning rate of failure. Basically he's got lucky with a Dalglish purchase in Suarez.

A fraud. Pure and simple.

and that's debateable as to what you call a success. he's been anonymous in a large chunk of games,. the fact they're looking at lallana illustrates this point with the way they're looking at a better alternative (when defence is the main issue to be looked at), instead of spending a lot less on a backup for coutinho.

"I might add that I count Everton amongst the clubs who have welcomed me over the last few seasons. I have been received more warmly by Everton than I have been by Liverpool. It is scandalous and outrageous that I should have to write these things about the club I helped to build into what it is today, because if the situation had been reversed I would have invited people to games.

"It was never my intention to have a complete break with Liverpool, but at the same time I wasn't going to put my nose in where it wasn't wanted. Maybe I was a an embarassment to some people."
With a bit of organisation the Park End could hold this quote up, a letter each, at the next derby. SCENES, indeed

TBH I think they are looking at Lallana solely because they as usual have an idiot amount of money to spend. For that side to do well, all they need is two quality central defenders, and a midfielder that can backup Henderson, Allen, Gerrard and Lucas. That they are instead going to buy someone at a premium and who can only ever disturb what is going on there is mad, even for them - unless it means the racist is off.

I see the RS are looking to build 8 executive apartments within the rebuild

http://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/news/liverpool-news/executive-apartments-could-built-within-7250373

Why not go the whole hog, knock it down and build proper houses.......

I'm sure the irony of that story wont be lost on the thousands of people turfed out of their own homes by LCC and LFC. That's a real slap in the face for them.

Okay, so it's an artists impression, but after being kicked out by their own council and the club that I imagine many of them supported (I know a mate of mine's family did, they now live in Speke thanks to a CPO, and no longer support the RS), when was it, nearly 10 years ago now? Then there was a failed move to a different site altogether, now essentially they're extending a couple of stands a bit and making a big concrete concourse for people to mill about on before the match where locals used to live. At least all those shiny new flags will fit in nicely with the Mc'Donalds. Christ, what a shower they are.

Its a disgrace the way they've been allowed to procrastinate and renege on their plans for the site. The supposed regeneration of the area is nothing but a smokescreen to facilitate their own 'plaza'. Remember Stanley Park and the 'spade in the ground in 60 days' of the Yanks...and the £9m grant money (which I think wasn't given in the end). Its an absolute scandal and the people of the area who have put up with all the match related hoo ha for years should feel rightly betrayed.

The movement of Suarez and Sturridge helps him a lot, it's true. He's got a bit of flair that comes through in key moments though. He pretty much ruined us in that Anfield Derby. I'd say he's been a success, a qualified success maybe.
