I hope Van Gaal gives Brent a lesson in tactical awareness and coaching tonight.

Getting owned by United in the final of a very high profile pre-season tournament would set the scene nicely for their forthcoming season.......

The embers of the fume would start to glow......
I want the deludes to win build up the momentum as they head towards a train wreck of a season

A 'video' came on: 'Budapest' by George Ezra. In the 45 minutes I had to endure of this awful channel it was played TWICE.

Point being, in the video there was a lad in a LFC scarf with 'Pride Of Merseyside' (how ironic is THAT?) emblazoned on it. He seemed to be necking glasses of milk for some reason.

Talk about sucking up to a sick cult for music sales and popularity. By the way, the song was like those you get on adverts - dull, tuneless, and badly sung.

I despise the cult aspect of them more than pretty much anything else about them.

I was curious and checked this video out, but it's just him singing into a camera. Not sure what video you saw. This is the official one:

But agree the song is turgid ad-fodder. It's as if USA/UK musicians nowadays to be popular have to be young, sort-of attractive and sing in a fake copy of what we traditionally think of as good strong voices.

This sort of beautiful music (from Budapest no less) would never hit off in USA/UK as the musicians don't look like models and there's no guitar or autotune/plastic beats:

In failing to win the title, if you can call it that......

Throwing away the Chelsea game, if you can call it that.....

Losing a 3 goal lead, if you can call it that......

Leaving my wife, if you can call it that.....

I didn't, actually. I really like folk from Eastern Europe, specially Czech neo-folk (modern, nonchalant melancholy but with some bonkers humour and off-beat musicianship too).

Can you recommend owt?

The Hebridean Celtic Festival is usually televised and is you hear some good things there.

Mostly I just see acts at local festivals and stuff. Sometimes they are accompanied by barrels of homemade cider which could convert any pop fan to the folk scene.
