ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Of course they don't

But if Liverpool offered more money than Real it seems silly to think a player wouldn't consider going to them, especially if they have CL football to offer

Arsenal probably offered similar money for Sanchez as Liverpool did but if Liverpool had offered 50K or even 100K more a week, I'm pretty certain he would have gone

It's all about the money really

Liverpool don't offer more money that Real, though. So, it's meaningless.

Arsenal agree a fee of around £15m with Spanish runners-up Barcelona for the sale of club captain Thomas Vermaelen.

Poor old Agger. Libpool standing in the way of a player trying to better themselves. I can see only squad discontent now at Anfield.

But the point still stands

Davek seems to be suggesting that he wouldn't go to them at all, but my point is that money trumps everything

I dunno about that mate, there are plenty of other motivating factors in all walks of life, most folk will go for the money but many others take pay cuts, change careers, move location to live the life they want and money is secondary. Easier decision as well if your already financially comfortable.

Arteta took a pay cut to move to Arsenal

Suarez took a pay cut to move to Barca

Your point is invalid

Cuz Mirallas is skint with us, what with his luxury apartment and golden Bentley and that...
Personal happiness/reasons/chances to actually play trump money most the time, especially for players who already have a bit of money in the bank. Why would he move to anywhere to get 5k per week more, but play once in a blue moon?

"Discussions were at quite an advanced stage with Arsenal," said Mirallas.

"[But] I think I had a possibility of playing in more games, for longer periods, with Everton."
Arsenal have signed strikers Lukas Podolski and Olivier Giroud this summer, but also saw Robin van Persie leave for Manchester United.
And Mirallas believes he has made the right decision by joining David Moyes's side.
"It was always clear that it was going to be totally down to me to make the decision [about who to join]," he said.
"What's important for me at this stage in my Premiership career, just about to embark in a new league, is to get plenty of time on the field."

A players never going to sign for a club and say its because he was offered more money, if as has been said Falco signs for the RS he's never going to say its because they blew Madrid out the water with the wages they offered. He'll say its about the Kop, European nights and the challenge etc etc. footballers give nothing away in these interviews and on their initial interviews they want to appease the fans from the beginning, I'd take those statements with a pinch of salt.

Don't forget Brendan's "Vision" mate, that'll be the clincher for that top talent.
