ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Why do you think Everton and Spurs will battle it out for 4th instead of Pool? They've just invested a huge amount of money on their squad and it's much improved.

I hate them as much as you but that's extreme wishful thinking in my opinion.

I also think Europa League footy will hinder you and Spurs this season - just look at Swansea last season.

1. The RS haven't come close to replacing the 50+ goals Suarez was directly responsible for through scoring, assisting or diving for free kicks/pens.
2. They won't get anywhere near as many penalties this season; refs have cottoned onto their tactics.
3. Their defence is still leakier than Jordan's minge.
4. They have a bigger squad, not a better one.
5. With all due respect to Swansea (hello, Brian), who got in by winning the League Cup, Everton and Spurs are far better equipped for a European schedule.

I agree that Liverpool could have spent the money better - this is what I think of their squad and managerial team:

GK

Their keeper is a bit dodgy. Great shot stopper, terrible at everything else. No decent backup GK either.

Defenders

Johnson is finished. Flanagan had a very good season last time round though, I rate the troll faced squirrel.

Lovren the jury is out. Has had a terrible start to the season.

Skrtel is dodgy. Don't rate him, never have. Sakho and Toure can't get games, both extremely slow. Sakho turns like a bus.

Agger? Is he still alive?

Moreno is a new signing and I thought he was superb at Sevilla. But he'll take a season to 'bed in'. Luis Enrique is gash.

Midfielders

Gerrard is finished at the highest level now too IMO. They compare him to Pirlo over at RAWK because of the new position Brenda has him playing. He's simply not clever enough to play there and shouldn't be shielding the defence, he's too slow.

Lucas. His career has been up and down at Pool. Seems to be running out of fans now, extremely limited footballer.

Henderson. Their most important player these days apart from DS. Has come on leaps and bounds, I like him - runs all match.

Allen. Good squad player to have - can go missing more often than not though. Tidy little player, nothing exciting, won't create goals.

Lallana. New signing, talented lad - extremely overrated but all English players are. I think he'll be a good signing personally, like him.

Coutinho. Looks like a world beater one week, looks gash the week after. Goes missing, still young and learning. I like him.

Forwards

Sterling. Superb little player, will only get better. One to watch this season.

Sturridge. I don't get the hype. He's all flicks and tricks. Does score goals though but has to carry L'pool this season.

Balotelli. Will either be explosive or sulk around and look disinterested. I'm going for the latter, hence DS having to carry Pool.

Lambert. Squad player, will be brought on as Brenda's 'Plan B' for when they want to hoof it long for flick downs. He's a clogger.

Borini. Rubbish. Will probably be at S'Land when window closes anyway.

The Manager

Really thinks he's the next Shankly/Paisley. Uses the word "Wee" all of the time in interviews now, he never did this at Swansea. Wonder who he is copying?

He knows how to form a very exciting attacking team and usually his teams play attractive football. But he couldn't organise a defence if his life depended on it and is also known to be dodgy in the transfer market.

The Assistant Manager

Wears shorts.

Who have I missed?

You missed the piss-stained tramp who is worshipped like a king at the pit...

It's going to be hard work disliking him.

Who have I missed?

You've pretty much decimated their entire team , so why are you so certain they'll be top 4?

Joe Allen

“We can be too honest and too fair at times,” the midfielder said. “It can be seen as a good thing but at this level you need to be clever at times. At times we can maybe stop things at source and save ourselves a lot of trouble.”

I'm unsure whether the lad knows what he's actually trying to say there. 'kin gobbledygook
