Raheem sterling apps 80, goals 13, assists 16
theo walcott apps 280, goals 46, assists 62

Not a great deal of difference, I'm not extolling the virtues of walcott, I think he is decent and no more, same as sterling, both decent players. The hype around him as a wonderkid who will be a world class footballer, sorry I don't see it.

fair post tho would be more interestin to see em compared at similar ages

townsend is nowhere near walcott or sterling btw (to the guy u quoted). utter tosh player, one goal and zero assist for spurs all last season, and the goal was a cross!

Oh townsend is a total one trick pony, he may have an occasional purple patch here and there were he pings a few in, but there will be a lot of troughs with those peaks, sterling is better than him for sure.

FFS, you've been reading the crap on RAWK too long, it's strong stuff and bound to have an effect.

Not at all. If anything, from reading RAWK and other fans' forums for so long, I've realised that I am a very objective, non-biased football fanatic. I basically call it as I see it.

I am a Manchester United supporter. I despise Liverpool Football Club. I can't stand that twonk they've got managing them either.

But he's a good manager and that's not just my opinion, it's pretty much fact.

He has taken Swansea from the Championship to the Premier League, playing beautiful football along the way.

He has taken a 7th place Liverpool team filled with dross to runners up in the league within 2 years and with playing pretty football along the way.

Like I've already said, I can't stand the bloke - he grates me. And he's not some genius - he's still young and learning himself. But anyone who thinks that he isn't a good football manager is quite frankly barmy or refuses to acknowledge it.

What about all the people in here saying they'll be "lucky to finish in top 4" then? Isn't that just as bad?

The harsh facts are that Liverpool have a very good first 11, more squad depth this time and a good manager. Plus last season they finished 2nd with a lesser squad. And for me, they play the most exciting football in the league along with Man City.

I am not going to pretend they are rubbish when they're not. They move the ball quickly, they are unpredictable up-top, they seem to be getting better defensively and they have a manager who has proved already that he's more than capable of managing at this level.

For me, Liverpool are better than 17 teams in the league. Chelsea and City only stronger.

Oh god you will be called all sorts for this post

Basically spot on though

Good managers prove it when the time comes to prove it. He was frozen with fear at the two key moments last season against Chelsea and when it started falling to pieces against Palace.

I dont think anyone would call him a bad manager, but when he himself is flirting with the great managers of Liverpool's past and name dropping Jose all over the shop he will be judged accordingly. That's why he's called a fraud. And he is one. An utter fraud.

He was certainly helped with a fair amount of "luck" as well.

He was "lucky" when he managed to get Swansea promoted by playing pretty football and by finishing as runners up with Man Utd in the Premier League?

How so?

And I think "fraud" is harsh. I agree that he's a prize pillock who think he's the next Shankly though.

I think young managers are as good as their last season really. Need to prove it over the years with silverware more than anything, when youre spending craploads of money anyway.

It should never be forgotten that the man is an utter gobshie though. Perfect fit really.

"'I thought he was going to stay, I thought we'd have got another year out of him,' said Gerrard.
'I was actually already on the floor when I saw the bite because we knew we were going out. It was a double blow, knowing you're going out of the World Cup and knowing you're going to lose your best player.
'I knew there was no way back for him then and I knew he was going to engineer a way out.'

Stevie's soon changed his tune since July. He was wishing him the best when he left but now he's instigating Suarez knew what he doing to get out of the club...

Any way, that's enough of me sticking up for Liverpool - it's making me ill.

Thought you'd guys enjoy my latest Tweet from RAWK:

(Everton) ...their manager has a [Poor language removed] 50 foot portrait of him on the side of the stadium after winning precisely [Poor language removed] all.

They are mad.
