But we lost this game last season so the pythagorus rule would show that once you look at the overall pie chart of possession v chances created x defensive clearances shows that we've still got a great chance of making 86 points which if all other teams don't get 87 or more will see us win the title.

And if that doesn't work they'll pull out some Alternative League.......

Ah, the memories
Ha ha

Still makes me laugh. I still buzz off joe 90 at the front And that comment from one of our lads back in April. ' looks like he just remembered where he put his phone '

then we have the 3 lads in the middle, crouching into a huddle.

The triple-chinned blert in the back looks for all the world like he's a regular sized bloke in a fat suit; like Adam Sandler in some jarg big-budget comedy.

i see a flaw in your mathematic there john.

you've forgotten to subtract the amount of points suarez single handedly won last season + the amount his replacement (whoever that is) will gain.

Glenn Hoddle (or his ghost journo) waxing lyrical on the RS and their love affair with Europe......

"There is something about Anfield’s atmosphere on European nights that could prove really significant when the Champions League starts again this week. Liverpool are back for the first time since they were knocked out in the group stages in 2009. Many would say they are back where they belong because of the incredible history of those European Cup-winning sides of the Seventies and Eighties — and that truly extraordinary night in Istanbul in 2005. It is a tournament that is in the DNA of the club and some European teams will leave Liverpool this season having had the shock of their lives, playing in front of that crowd in a Champions League night game...On those evenings, there are few stadiums that can compare.....There is something about the energy that a crowd can give you that can make the difference on these occasions...Saturday evening was a good example of the difference Europe makes — the atmosphere was flat in the 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa. I’m sure it will be different on Tuesday night."

Im wondering why Hoddle, at the same time, didn't ask why they save their hysteria for the showboating, 'bells and whistles' under-the- floodlights fanfare nights and if the fans morgue-like apathy at the bread and butter games correlates, therefore, to them losing those games just like yesterday. The Chelsea Debacle/the Spread-Eagled Skipper even after the t shirts, the bragging and the frenzied coach thronging outside the ground like Palm Sunday, has probably convinced them that if, as usual, they say it often enough, "it just doesn't work for League games" becomes reality.
