Have Liverpool ever been 13th or under in January in the Premier league/Premiership era?

Yes, in January 1993.

Everton were 12th with 32 points and Liverpool were 14th with 29 points.

“He’s making the contribution we want him to make, starting some of the games or coming off the bench to have an effect.
“There’s been a big spotlight on Rickie which has been unfortunate for him because of the unavailability of other players and what we haven’t had.
“But he was always brought in to perform a role which is to play in games, and come on in games, and make an effect - today was the perfect example of that....

Forensics are currently examining the quote for the compliment in there somewhere

I have re-read this a few times and still thinking that is the most inane and obvious statement ever made about a footballer.

His role is to play football?

That's right...and hes guaranteed to come out with more. He makes Stanley Unwin sound as clear as Richard Burton with his gormless quotes. Apart from everything else with the above, if his role is to play football, how come hes only started a handful of games especially with Balotelli's comic turn for them.

Mourinho in a piece asking that Chelsea fans stop singing the Gerrard slip song still manages to get the dig in ahead of tomorrow night's game....

“I like to play at Anfield. It’s difficult, but I like it – although I have difficult memories from there. To lose a Champions League semi-final to a goal that was not a goal... it stays with you for ever. You don’t forget it.
“It still hurts, of course - and in the Capital One Cup there is no goal-line technology, so we are not free yet.”
