This is not in defence of Rodgers, as I believe him to be an utter clown, but I have given up on trying to analyse comments by Liverpool fans.
They're not a football team; instead they're a quasi-religious cult which the majority of their fan base wholeheartedly buy into.
Look at their whole match-day experience: turning up early to pray at their shrine to Shankley et al; adhering to the Liverpool dogma.
Liverpool fans do not chant, instead they sing their hymns. They believe in their own superiority and divine right to succeed. It's nauseating!
So when Rodgers spouts his dogma, the rest of the world perceives it to be nonsense. Liverpool fans on the other hand, they hear it differently.
Terms like philosophy, culture and history, which Rodgers loves to spout, quite easily fit into their overall doctrine of superiority.
Everything is part of a plan... a long term path to where they will reach their 'rightful' place. When they lose, they must blame others.
Over on RAWK it is unacceptable to criticise Rodgers, as to do otherwise would go against their belief in their manager being chosen by some deity.
Those who do tend to tread the 'disrespectful' line of voicing concerns of their manager, will only go as far as heralding the name of the Messiah.
Yes, you know it... Rafael... the almighty one... for whom they still unravel banners and look up to with sweet, loving eyes. Cringe worthy!
I just sit and laugh now and try not to understand how the cult perceived the rest of the league, as I will never ever grasp it.
