Liverpool's guard of honour for Chelsea will be 'humbling experience' admits Brendan Rodgers
http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/liverpools-guard-honour-chelsea-humbling-5664892

Brendan Rodgers has admitted being forced to deliver a guard of honour to the side that cruelly denied Liverpool the title last season will be a “humbling experience”.
But he insisted Liverpool will acknowledge
Chelsea's Premier League triumph with dignity at Stamford Bridge on Sunday... and use the experience to spur them on to take the final step to the top themselves.
Many Reds fans are choking on the idea of having to applaud this season’s champions on to the pitch, especially given the way they played anti-football at Anfield last season to deny their team the title on the day Steven Gerrard’s slip proved so costly.
“It’s not something the players would like to do, but we are a team and a club that has class, so we will do it and go straight into the game....

How the hell they turn the attention of this from Chelsea to themselves is beyond parody. The exaggerated OTT language as though this is an outrage - when it happens every bloody season...and some club does it. Being forced to do it takes any respect out of it....and this fella still thinks that's something the club retains. They humbled themselves and made themselves inferior last season - not Chelsea and not just one game and this glib tongued git confuses humility with being humbled because he doesn't know the difference. One things for sure, no one will have to return the favour for them in the foreseeable future.
I think Brendo's being a bit "tongue in cheek" there

he knows it's the perfect opportunity for him and his chums to pay tribute to Jose for the great banter he had with all the classy and dignified liverpool fans after last years game at anfield

and he and his redmen will love it I tell you, love it

you stay classy kopites !!

Ultimately their very existence is down to Everton FC.

The punishment is that we, unwittingly, have given the scum of the planet a 'Mecca'.

Their behaviour since Heysel has 100% justified all accusations of murder.

I have a feeling that Karma is nowhere near finishing with them just yet.

Just been reading about how some bands carry on without their 'prime mover' so to speak. Thin Lizzy sorta carried on without Phil, but they decided it wasn't really 'on'. Can Motorhead exist without Lemmy?

Point being, without Stevie it's not really LFC. Maybe they can advertise themselves as a 'tribute act'.

"Hendo" on the guard of honour for <chuckles> "title rivals" Chelsea:

Henderson admits it will be an uncomfortable moment for the visitors at the home of their bitter London rivals. And the midfielder has called on his team-mates to use the experience as motivation for a title tilt of their own next season.

“You have to respect the team because they have been the best team over the season,” said Henderson.

“Of course, it will be difficult doing that but you have to pay your respects.

“If that does happen, you have to remember the feeling that it is what we want to achieve and you have to bottle that and make sure next season we can have a really good go and use it as motivation and drive to push on.”

So they'll use this guard of honour tomorrow to stop the 25 year rot.

Cheers Hendo. You can get back to your village now.
