ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Not one of them can understand that he isn't leaving because of money. He is leaving because they are sh1t and he wants to win stuff at a big club.

He'll be leaving for money too, and who can blame him?

Put it in a normal job context. You're on £20k a year. You've been told you should be on £50k, but your employer delays offering you that for a year. So you're losing out on 30 grand.

They then offer you the £50k, but by that point you've got other options on the table at a better employer and you'll be paid £60k.

Why the hell would you take the £50k offer, given you've lost £30k because of their position over the last 12 months too?

Has the Ritalin Kid been on Redmen TV yet?

That's the meltdown I'm waiting for when he wriggles free of the straight jacket breaks down the door to his cell and forces his way into the living room to do his piece to camera. It's going to be golden!

What a week of entertainment that lot have given us and there's still room for top 7 finish on Sunday and the indignity of the fair play league after spending so much last year.

Double standards. Not only that, there wasn't an eyelid batted when Lallana left Southampton for Liverpool for exactly the same reason Sterling wants to leave the club.
Yes, players like Mirallas or Lukaku in the near future may want to leave Everton, but as a fanbase we're realistic to know that the reason they'll want to leave is for success. Liverpool don't have that mindset - they still think they're a "top" club, when they're anything but. They're basically just above us in the pecking order, and barely distinguishable from where Tottenham are now.

100% spot on that

*this case is a perfect example of the fact that british media is full of kopites

If this was Barkley at Everton, the media would be parroting the "moving to win things" line and this hatred Sterling is receiving wouldn't come in to it.

Yet because it's liberpewlfudbalklub, it's "greed" - despite the fact they have a snowballs chance in hell of winning anything substantial in the near future.

This is exactly how I feel, especially the part regarding the realism of Evertonians and the delusion of Kopites everywhere.

Well said.

Bull's-eye.

I wish we could sign Sterling.. Would be amazing.

Why? He's genuinely Scott Sinclair in every single conceivable way.

Flourished for one season in a side with pace everywhere and the brains of Suarez, yet was still the weakest link, and other than that one season domestically he has been horrid for England without anyone noticing because people overrate players who run with the ball, no matter how braindead they are when doing so, and he cannot finish his dinner, never mind a chance on goal.

I'm devastated he's leaving Liverpool. I badly wanted them to cave and offer him £150k a week or something daft, as he is worth a quarter of that.

Honestly, that Ibe looks twice the player already, and even he isn't that good.
