Gerrard is probably back home with his feet up reflecting "thank god I didn't sign the new contract offer to stay with this sack of [Poor language removed]".

Almost feel a bit sorry for Rodgers here, I think he massively underestimated the cult, their sense of entitlement and delusion.

He probably thought: "Say good things about the club, mention the history, blame everyone else and they'll want me forever"

No mate. To quote Shankly:

"I have been received more warmly by Everton than I have by Liverpool."

he's got by for 3 years without winning anything and toeing out silly lines. only the last couple of months they've stopped eating it up.

“You shouldn’t use the deaths of people to get back at another club on any level"

Hmmmm, so what about the Munich chants then Peter you tit?

I just can't believe that he was given a platform to spout that nonsense

Look, Heysel could have happened to any of the English teams during the 80's. Hooliganism was rife.

But only Liverpool would have reacted to Heysel in the way they have. Maybe Millwall would have been as crass and unapologetic, but that's about it

Scumbag

Absolute scumbag
I'm amazed he's even talking extensively about it. It's usually brushed under the carpet, 30 year anniversary or not.

That last paragraph was shocking. He's looking to 'be real' and honest about Heysel and what they thought had happened, but then he sinks to the depths by including some BS about 'always the victim' being about H'boro too...and then a veiled pop at Everton fans for bringing up Heysel but only when it suited when we faced relegation.

He should have stuck to the policy of brushing Heysel under the carpet, because that is a terrible contribution to the issue.

Apparently Rodgers was screamed at by the travelling Kopites at HT and full time as he passed through a gaunlet of hate.

Ha Ha Ha Ha Ha.

That's the "family" you've always been banging on about Gnashers. They're throwing you out of the house lad.

A blarney spouting no mark getting his just deserts.

i'm looking forward to what he says when he leaves there. i'm sure he lies through his teeth half the time when talking about the club because he knows it's how to interact with them. i don't think he rates gerrard as much as he lets on in the press either - he just knew he had to play him with it being his last season otherwise the fans would hound him out.

...and conflate at every opportunity LFc with 'the city', because it'll wind dem bitterz up lad.

Made up he's facing the sack, tbh. That'll teach him to ever look down his nose at Everton. The know nothing, no mark weapon.
