ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

They seem absolutely convinced they are going to be getting a world class player in. It is quite amusing really. They are going on about Lacazette, Reus and Benzema and are carrying on like the spoilt housewife who's expecting a big tacky gift from her fella because he's been caught playing away.

The signing players early approach FSG ship have used hasn't steadied the ship and warded off the feelings of anger. Because the signings are all very average (or championship) players in someways it has just added to the anger. I think FSG had hoped they could do some business early and sit back on their laurels. The rats seem to think that this is the start of a huge spending spree later in the window.

This will be interesting to watch. There is no way in hell they could attract the names they are after. That's not down to Rodgers or the lack of FSG's ambition, it's just a reflection that they are a lot smaller than 4-5 teams in the league now who won't even consider them.

The anger at the lack of a big signing is going to grow as the window goes on. It will add more pressure to Rodgers once the season starts. The only way out I can see, is basically sign a complete has been to keep them happy for another season. They did this with Balotelli last season. Massively overated but enough of an oddball to keep the bellends from frothing for a season.

Another stop gap will be needed that they can rally behind and say who's the best in the world. I can see Tevez being that man, and I can hear the "better than Rooney, better than Ageuro, better than Messi" shouts now.

Lost all his pace, would be on massive wages, and would throw a strop within a year threatening to retire (and he actually will have to retire in the not too distant future). Good player but it's hardly as though Suarez is coming back. He'd give them some good moments they'd all go on about as 'the best in the world' but he's never been massively prolific wherever he's been in MUCH better teams.
Totally agree, the sort of player that declines rapidly 29 plus. He is Argentinian though so they may be hoping there's some WW2 Nazi fugitive blood in him.

if you break it all down to the bare minimums.

last season they followed a 2nd place and champions league with a load of players that included 3 strikers who couldnt score

this seaosn they have so far followed a 6th place finish with a 30 year old english midfielder on a free (cole mk2?), a free from burnely (championship) and a free from Bolton (championship.).

Is it just me or in its simplest form it is just entertaining?

Depends which way they go. If they buy top players on top of Milner zings and Bogdan then they're not bad buys. If their big money signings are more mid table fodder like Clyne, Jay Rodriguez and Ashley Williams then the cult will turn and that will be the end of Brenda. Brendan is funny though, it's as though he only knows the top European players and players in the prem. he seems unaware of the layer of promising European talent not yet discovered or at a smaller club. His thought process is 'maybe I can get Reus for 25 mill, oh we've been rejected ok Lallana is my number 2 target'. They link themselves to ridiculous players who are never going to join a team outside the champions league but think that der libberpewl name will make them join. Then they send in an embarrassingly low offer and ask them to fit into their wage structure. It's just a cringeworthy approach to trying to remain relevant. Then they panic and waste all the money anyway overpaying for premier league dross.

Hope they don't get him as really rate the lad.

Liverpool are weighing up a bid for the Charlton teenager Joe Gomez as a replacement for the centre-back Sebastián Coates, who is expected make his loan move to Sunderland permanent in a £4m deal.
Yep, seen him a couple of times watching Charlton with Mrs d'indica, good player, their lot really rate him. She'll fume if he goes to the pit.

@Tesco Got any deals on? I have a budget of £0 and preferably I'd like the product to be English and show great character.
