they have put a bid in for Austin now?

I was told by someone who's 100% nailed on to be right that they tried a whilst back in the window to get him but he's got fitness issues making a deal very difficult for them to do.

I don't know why that is but that's what I was told and as far as I was aware, interest is completely dead now.

So what they're saying is:

Christian Benteke is the missing piece of the jigsaw ?

That they're going to win the league now.

Correct?

To be fair he could be.. When you look at it, they would of been premier league champions a couple of seasons ago, but they were too distracted winning the various other important leagues they do each year.

They made it extra tough on themselves last season by adding, and of course winning the ... if only English players scored... league.. and suffered for it.

This wasn't on their list of priorities previous years, and combined with the usual passing, shots from outside the area and of course the unforgettable, neutrals choice leagues (poll results not relevant to their victory on that one), proved just too much this time round.

Fortunately for them the use of Origi and now Benteke shows a clear signal they are dropping this English players trophy in order to concentrate on just winning RAWKS alternative league, hitting par, finishing third in the league and subsequently winning the.. most positive book titles published about failure in a season.. league.

So it may well be the case that Benteke is the missing piece a puzzle that just can't be solved, but every combination of pieces seems to make a picture of a cult chasing Rodgers out of Anfield.

you buy either austin or ings (they've got by far the worst of the two by the way) - you don't buy both of them though. i quite like austin, think he's talented, would have him here but for nowhere near the price branded about - he needs the service though.

if you want top 4 asperations do you really want to be buying bogdan, ings and austin? that leaves sturridge, austin, balotelli, ings, lambert and borini. all a bunch of nothingness there - they'd be better off startng again and getting 3 good ones without injury problems - think of how much wages they'd be paying for those strikers.

Telegraph.......

"Rodgers was eager to hear fresh voices and ideas as he tried to come up with new strategies and formations to get the best from his squad. He was starting to feel the burden of having all the responsibility."

The poor soul...........

No mate Harry Kewell was the last piece of the jigsaw!

So is that saying that Marsh & Pasoce were useless and he had to everything by himself because they had not one original thought between them?
