ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

remember when they thought they were in line to get klopp, mourinho, ancellotti, guardiola etc. 3 years ago ... and ended up with a man from swansea?

this happens every time, the worst thing about their fans is their delusion of where they stand in the football world. The best players don't care that they won european cups in the 70's. same as why players these days don't care we've won the league 9 times.

Spot-on. They were talking about the big european names last time & ended up with gnashers. Even stevie me tried to convince everyone that gnashers was 'Always first choice'

http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18304837 :coffee:

They'll end up with hairy kidnap. That's where I'd place my stack.

It would be even funnier if they did this and then didn't even get Klopp, instead went with a McAllister-Carragher dream team. And then Klopp went to Chelsea next summer when Mourinho leaves
I don't see why even Carragher would want to manage them! He has a great job right now and is widely respected (even by most evertonians) as one of the best pundits on TV. Why would he risk that to become a laughing stock managing the worst RS team of my lifetime?

Why on earth would Ancelotti want to manage them? He's a CL team manager.

The whole story is designed to stroke their egos. Ditto Klop. Not a chance. They are not at the table and haven't been for years and cant attract top quality players of managers.

De Boer I reckon will get that job when it comes up.

I imagine they have sounded him out. Much like I'm convinced they sounded out Klopp last summer, got told no, and then Rodgers got his "backing".

I could only imagine Ancelotti taking the job if he's given huge money. I really can't see FSG doing that as they look increasingly bereft of interest in Liverpool and it isn't in their business plan to pay huge wages to established figures.
He wouldn't suit them at all either. Ancelotti is an effective manager of top internationals and able to get the bets out of the tactically. Liverpool have no top players. He is not interested in developing players as they want.
I was more worried about Klopp going there. He is a bit more of a maverick and might have bought into their fairytales. He also took a similar club like Dortmund to the pinnacle of European football so that was a bit of a worry for me.

De Boer is an interesting shout. I think he'd do ok there. I could see them going for Monk to be quite honest, it fits with the wider appointments of the last 2/3 managers, Rodgers, Hodgson, Dalglish.
I think they are losing interest though. Season after season of missing out on the champions league must be badly affecting their brand. They obviously thought they were getting a club the size of Real Madrid or Manchester United that just needed a bit of fine tuning before it was a super power. They've been lumbered with a middle ranking side who's past glories lie 30 years ago and a fanbase who are completely delusional.

This summer told you everything you needed to know about FSG. The fact they kept the manager, and crucially gave him just enough rope to hang himself, while not giving him anywhere near enough to challenge the top clubs. The club needs major overhaul and they signed up to slight tinkering.

They are a club in crisis now unable to reconcile their drop in fortunes. The crisis will only get deeper as time goes by.

I think Gary Neville has him beat hands down every time they argue, and Carra is prone to coming out with some utter tosh when pushed to actually think about something.

Beats MOTD hands down though.

Always have to laugh at Carragher when other people are asked who was the best player they played against. I remember Henry was asked on MNF one time on that Twitter thing they do at the end, and his reply was "Paul Scholes by a mile". Carragher just jumped straight in with "BUT BUT BUT BUTBUTBUTBUT STEVIE, WHAT ABOUT STEVIE. THIERRY! STEVIE!!" And Henry was just like "erm, I mean yeah, Gerrard was good, but..."
"BUT BUT STEVIE THO LAR. STEVIEEEE"
"Erm yeah, Steven Gerrard is a close second"

Basically Henry being forced into saying Gerrard was better than he believed he was, just because that ham-faced beaut couldn't take someone saying Scholes is far superior

Do you not think he's a good pundit? I was all set to hate him but he talks a lot of sense.

He's got a high pitched voice that only cats and dogs can fully understand.

When he starts ranting, the dog starts chasing it's tail and howling, and the cat goes for a dump in the neighbours flower bed.

What this means is anyones guess, as I can't understand a word the scarlet faced poltroon is saying.

Yeah I obviously prefer Neville, especially when he pipes Carra down when he wants to talk about the RS but he's way better than most of the tosh on TV which stunned me as I expected him to be full of S.
