Why is it seemingly like this before every derby? They have a turgid start, we look promising, we talk about having them pleading for mercy and 'this is our best chance in years to give them a good hiding', and they somehow turn in a right performance and we bottle it. Does my head in!

Edge we both know for a fact the CRC never excisted Kelly was Kelly and a handful of lads that if it went off they would be happy

. Everton were no saints to be honest, but they were just as bad, they had lots of decent lads as well at the time, unlike the author of that rubbish.

All clubs from around 1979 to 1985 had hooligan followings, it was a case of the times, & most got involved & enjoyed it. Unfortunately fatalities occurred for whatever reasons !! Heysel, St Andrews riots, were a coming together, a culmination of everything that went before !!

...have to say I was at the right age during the period you highlight but I was never involved nor could I imagine 'enjoying' hooliganism. I went the match and had a few pints with like minded Evertonians. I know things went on and perhaps I'm naive but I don't agree that 'most got involved and enjoyed it'.
