Eh? I've been goin the game since the 70's mate. Whats that got to do with anything anyway? If you think I meant those songs weren't sung back then, that isn't what I was saying. I know they were. I said I have never sung any of those songs or chants. If you feel it's fine to sing songs in reference to disasters, that's up to you(although I'd rather you didn't). I'm not here to tell you what to do. Each to their own I suppose. I was just saying it's not something I'd partake in. I find it all very distasteful. Football could without all that crap imo.

Both sets of supporters have been doing it to eachother for years no doubt. The chants are sick both ways and it probably happens every single time these two play eachother. There would have been munich chants as well last night at some point.

Look i really don't want to go there's an element of their fanbase that are just as bad as Manchester Uniteds.With the sanctimonious and self righteous way that lot carry on one could swear they don't sing sick songs themselves about Munich, airplanes and Harold Shipman.

basically my point. every set has their "fans" who do this. Both clubs have a fanbase bigger than most, which also means they have fans who don't have a massive affiliation with the club and feel they have to take part in such chants to "belong" with their fellow peers. To me, it's utterly boring; shouldn't be swept under the carpet because from both sides it's sick; but it's like a playground scuffle between both clubs. It's a bit rich if liverpool fans start getting on their high horse and lambast united fans, when they carry out the munich chants themselves like that sick spirit of shankley concert they carried out. Neither have the right to have a go at the other really.

Er, there was a fair bunch of Blues who sang Shipman songs at the Etihad a couple of years ago because the clubs received complaints from other Blues about it.

I don't deny that we have our share of nasty odious cretins either.However Liverpools fans always seem to take this moral high ground pretending that they are above these things.When their supporters are just as bad culpable and in some cases even worse than anyone else for such carry on.
