Hard to know.im sure there has to be.don't think it's rampant but be pretty naive to think there is none at all.
It can be tough i would say as well in some regards like being at home sick and you go to the cupboard take some cough syrup only to find out that is in the banned list.they have to be well educated in these matters and in sure they are but innocent mistakes will sometimes happen but a fat burning drug i would have no sympathy.you are a professional sports athlete.you are getting absolutely stupid money to be in tip top shape and fit as a fiddle so if you are taking these kind of drugs then thats just taking the mickey.

Footballers can't take anything, they're fully aware of it and are advised from very, very early ages. Even paracetamol and Ibrupofen they have to get cleared by the club as some of them contain stuff on the banned list.

Sakho wasn't taking anything to help slimming, it's THE main masking agent for performance enhancing drugs. He's been trying to hide them hence why he doesn't want his b sample checked in case the masking hasn't worked as well cause then he'll be shown up even more so as a cheat. Right now people will buy his slimming story.

He's a cheat, a Ben Jonston sized cheat, who's properly been found out.

Are paracetemol and ibrupofen used as masking agents as well because hard to imagine taking something like that enhances performance.
Sorry for the stupid question but im a bit thick on these matters:confused:

I wouldn't know mate, I assume they could.

No mate, their is different categories for the banned drugs. Some aren't as serious as others and things basically change day to day as to what's on the list. Paracetamol etc may just contain a very small amount if something that's on the bottom list but you're still exposing yourself to trouble if you take it so all professionals and even academy kids get told to take nothing at all without clearance from the club otherwise they leave themselves open.

The thing with the slimming pills is that they are on the highest bracket of drugs athletes can't use. When you look at the list they look out of place but they're right alongside anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs. They're there cause they hide the very serious drugs so using them is as bad as it gets in the eyes of the testing bodies as they generally know anyone using them is using peds.

Cheers mate;)

While that Guardian article is generally very good, arguing they should be kicked out of the EL and all, and reiterating how Sakho has no excuses, they still feel the need to stick this in there.... 'Liverpool – who have acted commendably throughout all this'

HOW? How have they acted 'commendably'? Continued to pick him after the offence? Continued to happily pick up the advantage? What precisely has been worthy of commendation?

Honestly, it seems sometimes that even criticism of them in the media has to be leavened by some empty yet mealy-mouthed arse-licking...

'Proper Liverpool, that'...
