ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I know it's probably unpopular but I like Klopp. Think he's a good manager. One thing that stands out is I can not see him joining Liverpool without certain... assurances about transfers. And that side needs MASSIVE overhaul. Mane being their marquee signing is just weird.

Problem is mate they are in the situation now they have spunked so much money and have such a huge bloated squad on fat wages that they need to trim it down, esepcially so now they have no europe.

Tghey have mocked us for our aging squad in the past and gone on about how we need to replace those players, in actuality if you have the money which we do, then it's easier doing that - it's a natural progression of replacing players as they age and leave/retire, than it is every year havign an influx of 7-8 players on good wages that most dont work out and your left desperately trying to hawk them so you can bring anyone in.

If Klopp thinks he will have any chance of mounting a challenge though with the current squad and adding a few east europeans and germans from mid table sides to it, then he's gonna get a shock.

Think they will end up thios summer with a negative net spend as well btw, which be very interesting how that goes down with their fans ...

All we've ever asked for is to be on a level playing field with these. We now have as much money as them and we're in another league when it comes to bringing players through. Unlike them, our squad needs to be added too rather than having to get rid of overpaid, overhyped players. The bitterness will hit another level if we do overtake them. Their jealousy for United is delightful, their faux rivalry with the oil clubs is pitiful but if we leave them behind all their heads will explode in a fit of bitter hatefulness. Should be fun to see.

My short opinion on klopp is this

He is a great manager. Would have had him here in a heartbeat last year and I'm not going to say otherwise just because he ended up there.

Tactically he is actually decent. From little a seen the team tactics worked but the players in those roles were crap so it failed.

Liverpool are dumb for offering him a new contract. Learn lessons from us for once! Plus it is a desperate move on their part that he may be poached away in the future so securing him now. Shows how far the club have fallen that they know they can't get better.

Only saving grace for me is if klopp tactics get found out ala Dortmund and we get to see them falter that way instead.

Lets just go into a derby with some belief ffs

Sick of being turned over by these paving slab lashing mutants
That is what makes the last derby especially frustrating for me. Liverpool didn't do anything special in that game, we just didn't put any sort of fight against them and gave them an easy game. Koeman team before they have kicked a ball would not have lost that game

The last Derby was a joke, Those players had totally downed tools

Martinez should never have overseen that game

The sad thing is so many fans saw it coming. Even I expected it, I only watched to see how bad it was.

Just frustrating overall that it wasn't the first time in 10 years we got that sort of game . I just hope koeman is different now.

United do have an interest in Sadio Mane. Bid lodged with Southampton last week.

*cackles*

I do like Mané but it's a significant downgrade. Hilarious to see them flash their knickers at every top player in Europe, then sign a Southampton player.

Do they have the lobe that causes self awareness removed at birth?
Honestly it still catches me off guard and surprises me...

hahahahaha even more amusing that United have actually gone and signed Mikhtaryan. Turned down yet again by a big name player but they laugh at us for our targets.

They get so excited when they get linked with somone decent, but are they really competing for those signatures or just an "option" used to get better deals from the first choice clubs?
They also often get linked with anyone by sites/papers after "click bait"

They won't even get near top 7 next year, they're going more and more backwards every year
Unfortunately I disagree, or at least to an extent. It frustrates me because he manages those lot, but Klopp is a pretty talented manager.

And he's shown that he's reasonably apt in the transfer market and can make mediocre players perform to a level where they'll do reasonably well.

I'm not saying they'll be anywhere near top four and they will still overspend on the occasional player, however it's not the Brenda situation.

We can just hope that FSG and Ayre keep trying to implement their own transfer policy and as such waste bundles of their dosh on dross.

He's done worse than Brenda so far. His signings have been very midtable. He really isn't anything special in this league, basically a foreign tony pulis. He won't be there in 18 months time

I hope you're right I truly do, yet my head unfortunately tells me otherwise. Signings may not be huge stars but I think they'll fit his model.

Carling Cup final and Europa League final (even though he fortunately lost both) suggest he has something about him. League not so good though!
