Personally, I think there's a part to play for psychology in sport.. But it's pretty much restricted to individual pursuit rather than team effort. For a team you can do it in one off, spontaneous moments. Like HK opening the window of the dressing room (I think at Notts County in the cup) and telling the players that if they couldn't do it for that mass of vocal travelling support they shouldn't be playing football in the first place. Anything more systemic than that in a sport like football is just going to ring very hollow and self-conscious. It's all about capturing the mood and channeling it to players. The best managers can do it.

In a round the houses type way that's what I was saying mate. Players want something that hits them immediately the kind of psychology that works on predominately middle class educated cyclists might fall on deaf ears when it comes to the football dressing room.

It was Stoke away jan 1984, 3rd round of the cup. Was there that day, one of the best away supports ever, awesome!!!

Sunday People reporting that Suarez has a £40m buy-out clause...

Man City, Chelsea and Atletico Madrid (who might need a replacement for Falcao) all interested...

Look, he's good, but he's not THAT good.

And his racist tendencies should smite him for all time.

no way in hell is he worth £40 mill. just on a purple patch. don't think you'd be rubbing your hands if they got 40 for that kunt and we only get 30 for felli

That wouldn't make any sense for Athletico. The rumoured fee for Falcao is about £45m, so they'd be getting £5m and a worse striker as a replacement.

Considering they are SO ****e,A win today against Swansea sees them only 3 points behind us

They will go above us next week imo as they seem to have a run of easier games coming up

and we are by all accounts a `very good team`. how can a load of shiite like them be anywhere near us?

Difference is we have been dominating games and have not been finishing teams off resulting in too many draws..... they have been playing poorly and have been getting draws and the occasional win through Suarez saving them time and again.

We only have ourselves to blame to be honest.
