ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Ha ha! I registered on here to read the World Football stuff (ie Liverpool) otherwise I wouldn't have bothered (I can read the fabulously hilarious Davek posts without registering). RAWK is moderated by a load of Southern, middle aged, middle class bellends mate. Take a look at the political threads on there. Embarrassing.

Are they mainly tories mate? Thats the impression I tend to get from them. Condescending southern Tories. Anyway welcome to the forum mate!

I think it's the fact that it's the most expensively assembled squad ever (and one of the worlds greatest, most successful football clubs, steeped in how the beautiful game should be played), managed by a self proclaimed tactical genius manager, has to resort to hoofing the ball to a big hairy headed yard dog in their own backyard!

Having watched Martinez sell us the dream of football on the floor you realise there is a role for direct hoofball.

It's not pretty but it is quite effective. United can't beat Liverpool in a conventional football game, but utilising their extra height seemed a sensible option. It is a very expensively assembled squad, but lets be frank, they have recruited badly. Pogba in particular currently has to be one of the worst buys of all time.

Of course it was. But only because of a refereeing error. Nowt to do with Mourinhos Wimbledon tactics. Surprised that people are defending these tactics, to be honest. It's not plucky Plymouth or the likes we are talking about here.

As I said mate, I think we've had a manager fetishise a way of playing over results over the last 3 years. When you watch us trying to pass our way out an Anfield last season you do begin to miss the odd long ball!

What do you reckon about your title push? I read a lot of reds, and I think they are trying to convince themselves? Or is that unfair?

Out of interest, why did you get banned from RAWK??

Oh and welcome
Political reasons, seriously! lol
Try and have a discussion on there about current affairs and come across as (what they perceive as) 'left wing' and you get harassed, bullied, browbeaten and patronised by a couple of Moderators on there (and their circle jerk of favoured like minded posters). Start asking awkward questions on those threads and give as good as you get in the debate and, boom: "Goodbye, this is a Football Forum, Not a Political Forum"!
And like I said, they are all Southern, middle aged, middle class bellends.

I think it's more of a case of 'Reach for the stars'. I'd be delighted with 4th place. Anything else is a bonus.

lol sounds as bad as I imagined. Do you reckon some of them will have a new banner which states "we're not English, we're middle class right wingers who hate the poor"

Probably be best to be off there the place is mental.

Anyway, how you feeling about this season

I had a look at it one time, I couldn't believe the swearing they allow.
The mods were worse than anyone for swearing too.
Each to their own but not my cup of tea. Not when you get kids going on these sites anyway.

Poor you fella, yes I live amongst the sort round here with their Alan Partridge style dress sense. I hope you find this forum a bit easier!

Thats fair mate. I think you will be better than 4th. You should be, but the one worry I'd have for Liverpool is that Klopp went heavy at the start of the season. Triple sessions in pre season etc. You blitzed teams but one might assume it would catch up later on as it looks like it is. We'll see though. For all the criticism he got, Benitez always aimed to get your lot peaking at the end of the season. The team he put together when he finished 2nd was superb, only beaten by a super human United team. I think that 2008/9 Liverpool team would have walked this league.

The other issue you have is the lack of a goalscorer. I know you mock us and our obsession with Lukaku. We do need to share more goals around. It's not impossible to win the league without a lad getting 15+ league goals, but I can't remember then last time it was done. That might be an area for Klopp to consider in the summer.

From an Evertonian perspective though, I think what is positive about Klopp for your lot is that it's sustainable. For the negatives I've given you above, what Klopp is doing looks sustainable over a period of time. You can see he takes his time to get players ready to play his way, get them fit enough etc. Using that approach getting quick fixes in January probably won't help all that much, beyond having them ready for the following season. His big match record is quite poor but the process he puts in is fantastic. For your dream team you'd probably want Klopp overseeing things, Benitez for the run in and Houllier for the finals! Clop is almost the antithesis of the other two managers.

I think your biggest concern will be your fan base though mate. In simplistic terms (as reds often say) Evertonians have overly small goals. We rejoice in small things and probably need to broaden our horizons a bit. Your fans are kind of the opposite, you demand it all and don't always give those time to succeed.

Your attitude is the right one, get top 4, recruit well again and build again. Look what clops done with Lallana, Henderson, Coutinho etc. He will improve players over a longer period of time. However knowing your fans as I do there will be a demand he does it ever quicker, and as with most progress if it's not linear the knives will come out (as they did for Rodgers, Benitez and Houllier before him). As a biased blue I hope Klopp suffers the same fate, not because I have anything against him (he seems a nice man) but because it would be unpleasant to see you win the league!

Klopp is taking you there, he is a perfect fit for FSG. However I've also seen what the LFC managers job has done to people. Rodgers almost lost his mind. Benitez likewise. Holler suffered great health difficulties. Dalglish couldn't handle it. Once your fans turn it can all go wrong quite quickly.

Was gonna say you've described me there, then I remembered I come from Kirkdale and don't know too many people who live until they're 114

Interesting post that mate. I haven't much time to respond to peoples posts at the moment but I will say that Mane, Lallana, Firmino and Coutinho could all get around that 15+ PL goal mark this season (obviously not all of them but almost certainly one of them (Mane) and maybe a couple or three of them!) Also, I don't think there is a possibility of the supporters EVER turning against Klopp. And the vast majority of supporters stuck with Rafael. FSG's perceived mingebagness could be a problem though.
