Jurgen Klopp says rivals want Liverpool to beat Chelsea and keep Premier League title race alive
by Chris Bascombe

Jürgen Klopp believes Liverpool will have the support of their rivals as they face Chelsea on Tuesday night knowing victory will reinvigorate the Premier League title race and stop it becoming a procession............

“A lot of teams in the league are on our side and want us to win,” said Klopp. “That gap would obviously make the league that little bit more exciting for a lot of people. But that means nothing. We want to go for these three points and that’s enough to be motivated at the highest, highest level..................

“If we are seven behind Chelsea we cannot say now we go for them. They might win the rest of the games. We need the points. We cannot waste time or points any more.

“It’s not about us saying we can catch them. If somebody is seven ahead of us then somebody else is ahead of us, it will be five points to Arsenal.”

After a challenging week in which Liverpool lost three consecutive home games, Klopp offered a reminder of his main priority this season – Champions League qualification.

Nah only Arsenal do, everyone else wants to see them absolutely caned and that's against Chelsea as well one of the most dislikable clubs around.

Das is falsch, Herr Klopp.

Unless your team is in the title race then either nobody cares or like us want a complete an utter annihilation and for Chelsea to send them into the meltdowns of all meltdowns. Their meltdowns are much better entertainment than a close title race.

I want to see Chelsea tear them apart. RS are bang average, they are due a hammering. They've flown Mane the saviour in waiting first class to be their hero but I don't think he's anything special. Hopefully they lose tonight and it's the start of a team already in decline.

They've been in long term decline for ages. A few superstars have overshadowed that. From the height of 2005-7 and players like Torres Gerrard Mascherano Alonso Reina they have declined to continually selling their best players, residing outside the top 4, patching up their stadium, and not winning trophies. Their brief dalliance with the title powered by Suarez papered over the cracks, as their delusion with Klopp is now doing. The reality is though they are no longer serious players at the business end of the champions league. Any other top club wouldn't accept it but the pro kopite media have convinced most of them they're still a huge club that they'll gladly ignore over a decade with only a league cup to show for it.

If Klopp misses top 4 this season it's difficult to see how they get back to the top again apart from another buy out (which they'll probably force in the courts again if need be). FSG won't spend like United, City and Chelsea, they can't attract the players that ECL clubs can, and their academy hasn't produced anyone since Gerrard. They're left praying they find a Suarez.
