ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

...they took a good while over the free kick when Lalana was judged to be fouled, the ref pointed to his watch but didn't add the time on at the end. I think that's why Dyche went to the 4th official at the end. The Reds have certainly gone backwards since the turn of the year, time will tell if it's a blip.

Any time they don't score early against a lower table team mate then they are and will continue to go to pot, it's in their psyche now, same way going into games against better teams they just get a massive confidence boost and play above themselves due to the record, that won't change now till next season (at the earliest)

strangely they just play massively better as the underdog

Stoke, West Brom, Watford and West Ham still to come after the City away game - all 4 games they will feel the pressure of it being another one of those games in where they slip up

Everton, Bournemouth, Palace, Saints and Boro at their gaff

Can see them slipping up in at least 2 home games and 3 aways

They aren't a team built to go and force a result and the close the end of season gets, thats exactly what they have to do, and every other manager will know it

Oh and taking Coutinho off for a 17 year old lad shows how rattled Klopps becoming - as did bringing on Lucas for Origi with still 10 minutes at least to go

Spurs, City, Liverpool and Arsenal fighting it out for three CL places now, IMO, though I think it'll narrow to a two horse race between Liverpool and Arsenal for the fourth spot.

why don't you think united are in there? United are more capable than arsenal at this very time, but will struggle without ibra.

It was an important win for them today, but they were far from impressive. Burnley are by far and away the worst away side this season and they stumbled past them. If (as I hope) they lose to City and we beat Hull then we are very much "in the game" going into the last 8 or 9 games.

I can see them having a lot of problems winning at Anfield and they have some tricky looking away games too, all against sides who have sussed out how to play them.

The other interesting thing to me, is just how weak their squad now is. With a couple more injuries and they would barely be putting at 11 senior lads out. They sold off all the squad players last season, who were ok (your Ibe's, Allen's etc) to help fund a spending spree. Difficult to see how many more lads there are there left to sell.

On a final note the "we are dead unlucky with injuries" myth must be challenged. They've had no more injuries than anyone else. Likewise the style of play they adopt if very intensive and will inevitably cause injuries. This season they've been lucky and had no European competition. Throw in another 15 games, no squad to talk of and not getting so lucky in terms of injuries relative to Klopp's methods and you start to see the unravelling.

Normally I'd be gutted they get a win playing badly. Under Benitez you knew they were ticking points off we couldn't catch as they would convert points. Similar under Houllier. I have no such fears now, I pity them and think we can still overtake them this season.

They pick up points. They didn't deserve 3 today but fluked them. They didn't deserve 3 against us but fluked them. They are not a good side but keep fluking points.......

Devils advocate, don't think they are fluking things anymore myself mate, on balance they did deserve to beat us, even first half but we allowed them to control the second when McCarthy came off. Today was just burnley showing exactly why they suck away from home, they failed to put the game away when in charge and failed to finish a few good chances.

They'll lose again to another meh side anyway, and if city get there act together there big side/Derby record will hopefully get well and truly wrecked, that's all that's keeping them in the top four atm, they lose that bounce from beating city and us then there left with the remaining games being ones they get very nervous in.
