Classic radio Murkeyside 'fan's phone in' after the RS debacle yesterday.

That beaut David Thompson reckoned Southampton were to blame for the RS making an 'illegal' approach for VVD.

The RS 'fans' were in fine form, and here are the most commonly used words and phrases.

'Shankley', 'never a sending off', 'Gerrard', and 'let's move on to the next game'.

Out of interest what did the "experts" on MOTD make of the red anyone know ?

They all thought it was harsh!

Although I suppose that both Shearer and Ian Wright had to be careful what they said, given that during their respective careers they both struck an opposition player in the head and neither appeared accidental unlike Mane's. Shearer's roundhouse kick to a kneeling Neil Lennon, and Wright's knee to the face of goalkeeper Steve Ogrizovic who I believe was also kneeling at the time.

I've never seen such a dramatic re-interpretation of high boot not being a sending off before. I've seen it given even when little to no contact was made because it was dangerous and reckless play. At some point this year a player will be sent off for a high tackle having made little contact and the general consensus will be that it was the correct decision because it was a potential leg breaker and the player was out of control. So the fuss made of one of the easiest decisions by sycophants in the media has been a disgrace. Given the force of the kick the goalkeeper is incredibly lucky not to have been hurt more seriously. It wasn't a natural position for the Mane's foot to be. If he had gone in with his head I think a yellow card could be argued as sufficient. It was reckless, dangerous and a sending off was fair.

Not an ounce of concern for the injured player from Klopp was there? He didn't even see contact being made from his position!

No Class FC.

Lame, such a poor set of pundits.

In other news reds talking about it are only doing so to deflect from how bad they are, without that red they still would of got tonked

The 'furore' over the red has seen them let off lightly by their own fans and media.

They absolutely collapsed in the second half. They were fortunate not to concede 7 or 8 (City had two goals ruled offside).

They play 'school playground' football. All the good players are up front and the rest of the class stay at the back. They are fortunate they can afford to buy better attacking players than most sides.

Not sure why there is any debate really?

Yes if he wins the ball he goes on to score.

However he didnt, he kicked a standing goalkeeper in the head and he has to go to hospital as a result. Of course it's a red card, no difference than to a fantastic tackle and one that breaks a players leg. Simply timing , you get it wrong and you are off.

Stop talking about the red card, its typical them that they get utterly humiliated and none of the talk Is about how utterly horrid their defence is. It was a battering, a fair few said they would really challenge this season, whereas the sensible ones pointed out how they failed the fix the glaring holes in their squad, that Is the topic that should be focused on.

I can't remember a premier league game where I've seen a team so easily sliced in half right through the centre. You don't really see it in the top leagues anymore.
