ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

I'd prefer they got top 4 if it keeps Klippity in a job. They can't win it anymore anyway, let them have the group stage and last 16, that's what they budget for. Big deal. I won't care either way.

The only one of them to not be afraid to speak his mind is Hamann, and he gets dogs abuse.

It's a wonder L Ron Hubbard wasn't on to them for lessons in brainwashing and cultishness, they have no rivals in this sphere.

I was reading an article recently when Joe Cole signed for them, their media people insisted he worked "biggest club in the world" at every opportunity in his first interview. Even he thought it was ridiculous.

Louis Theroux should do a special on them, with his faked ignorance, it would be hillarious viewing.

All he’s got is a bit of pace, any decent defender would crunch him within 5 minutes and he’d disappear, or just give him a yard and jockey him out wide.
Personally I’d take the first option, him and the ball in row Z
Decent player. Nowhere near elite quality.

Liverpool had two top quality players and they sold one a month ago.

So Spurs don't have any decent defenders? Or any other team in the league as he's scored against near enough everyone?

Salah is top quality. I hate them as much as or more than most on here and their fanbase consists almost entirely of unbearable mutants like The Anfield Wrap lads, but let's not be ridiculous here. I remember everyone going out of their way to deny that Coutinho was brilliant as well.

Against my better judgement I just had a look at The Cult of the Deluded forum. Apparently Lallana was just showing passion. Oh, and the kid deserved it because he elbowed him 'full force' in the head (didn't even disturb his man-bun). And 'it serves Spurs purpose to weaken our midfield'

There was one post with a sense of humour though, saying 'the kid backed into him, buying the choke hold'.
look at your own team of divers and cheaters lad

Think he was talking about Mane. Salah and Coutinho were a class above Mane (prob why one is now at Barca and the other is rumoured to be going to Madrid).

The comparison on MNF with the United 08 team was ridiculous though. Ronaldo at the time won the balloon dor, Rooney was a multiple prem winner, Tevez has starred at the World Cup. They went on to be the joint best player in the world, England and Uniteds record scorer, and a player good enough to go to City and Juventus. Yet Carragher was genuinely asking how Mane (no trophies), Firmino (no trophies) and Salah (has had one good season) stacked up against them. Honestly laughable.

It was about Mane, not him, he is top drawer.

WOW, he is something else, on the one hand he calls Kane a cheat, and didn't do a very good job of going down, but say's he would have done it himself? Not sure if I read that correctly now.

He basically said he would have done the same only made sure there was more contact. Or in other words, he would have been better at cheating. You really couldn't make it up.

Part of me thinks the officials got lucky with those late calls that were so crucial to the outcome of the game and even though former referees have come out and said the officials got it right at Anfield, there appeared to be a lot of guess work involved in several aspects.

This is my favourite part of both the article and Kopites in general regarding that match. They have started a witchhunt against a referee for making the correct decisions. They are so used to decisions going in their favour that when fair refereeing occurs they can't cope with it. This saying fits them down to a tee "When You’re Accustomed to Privilege, Equality Feels Like Oppression".

It was like when he was moaning about the goal line technology when it accurately called a goal against them. ‘That doesn’t get given if the technology wasn’t there’. They’ve lived in a world of bent refs giving them everything and now technology is coming in they are having to resort to media pressure to make their cases. Blatant onside is now ‘his foot is offside’, blatant penalties are now ‘the attacker gets in the way of his swinging leg so actually it’s a foul the other way’. They will just ramp up the media intimidation until they get the results they want at Anfield.
