ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Fairly sure he’ll be at Liverpool for at least another season and possibly longer if they keep improving.

Unfortunately he seems to absolutely love it there.
Hmmm. But if Barcelona or Madrid really wanted him he'd have the choice of playing for one of the top clubs in world football and a realistic chance at the game's biggest prizes. Would he turn that down in the hope that Liverpool progress under a pretty flakey manager and a club that sells to buy?

He could well go there in the future but sensible money is on him staying at Liverpool for at least another season.

That team were defensively sound. This lot are like a sieve when they are under a lot of pressure.

But at the other end, they're far superior. They've already scored more CL and PL goals than the 2005 team did in total in the PL and CL. They probably have defenders now that are as good, but the 05 team were just more organised.

I'm a bit worried that they're the dark horse this year. My only hope is that Klopp continues his form in finals if they get there!

Probably could beat any team on their day, problem is given their own inflated view of themselves & their past relevance they end up believing that. Inevitably they end up losing games they think they should win - there is an arrogance and inability consider any aspect of humility that is there Achilles heel - get the flares out, mob the coach, rock the Kasbah, the nearly won the league brigade are out in force.

They are what they are, the Haarlem Globe Trotters meets Space Jam, problem is they havent won the league since the back pass rule was introduced & in the greatest game in their history, they actually drew & won on penalties. Most of the cult have to pause and think before they can tell you the last time they actually won a trophy without it going to pens.

That said, I ain’t sat here thinking we are a better side - we are not by a long way - but fortunately I can see the difference & don’t pretend we’re something that we are not.

Good on their day. Over two legs against a top team? No chance.

The funny thing is as well is that they are far better against teams who come and attack them, teams who sit back against them then they're clueless. Now, whether the RS can stop the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern scoring against them is another matter, but these teams are more suited to the way the RS like to play, so I agree with you (and I've just brought up a bit of sick in my mouth saying it about the RS!) they are dark horses this year.

Aldridge is down, Barnes is down, Dalglish just stands there, Nicols on his knees, McMahons on his knees

That was a brilliant night they were all in the pub (about 2 mile from the ground) with there flags and bunting it was party time then it happened such joy we were on the ceiling they were on the floor one of the happiest moments of my life.

No chance? I think it’s over two legs that they have a chance. Sort of team that will lose 3-0 then turn around and win 5-1 in the next game. A stand-alone final would be a problem.

I’m not so sure that clueless is the right word. It’s the most effective way to stop them winning but they beat some bus parkers yesterday. I do worry that they’ll thrive off playing the likes of Barca. Bayern would be my preferred draw for them.

When teams do park the bus against them though, they do in the main actually struggle because they have no plan B.

They struggle more for sure but we’re deluding ourselves calling them clueless. I watched the Newcastle game until the second goal. That and some results would suggest they’ve grown more patient and adept against deep sitting teams.

The two legged thing is and has been my concern for a bit , i won’t settle until they’re out . In my opinion They’re a better team than last time they won in , that doesn’t mean they can’t struggle against various set ups but it’s a worry overall .
