ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

City fold and Liverpool will be two or three up inside 30 minutes. You've heard it here first.

Yep fully expecting any single shot Liverpool have tonight to fly in with some midfield no marks belting a wondergoal or a couple of corners going in. Only saving grace about first leg at Anfield is that as long as City score at any point they’ll still be in the tie regardless of how ferocious a RS early blitz might be.

As much as this will be an entertaining game the circus created by media and supporters makes it too much like hard work watching it. Not gonna put myself through it.

That’s my worry based on a lifetime of sitting through the heartbreak of their success but then I think about throwing the league away against Mourinho and palace . Then the Seville Europa cup final when all they had to do Apparently was turn up or the penalty shoot out they lost , when do they ever lose those , against city with a reserve keeper playing out of his skin . This year they threw away a lead at Seville and went out the domestic cups to West Brom and Leicester .

The RS aren’t a bad side but they’re not what they were when we had to watch them steamroller Europe’s best , they’ve got results in them and they absolutely could win this and certainly win tonight but I’m trying to hope their more crystalbul than Istanbul .

The problem is they're still a big club in their own heads due to their history, whereas City still don't really believe they are, or haven't in recent history in Europe.

The first leg at Anfield is both a plus and negative - if City can weather the early storm and get out of there without a hammering after freezing on the big occasion like so many sides do, they'll go through. I just can't see it though - 3-0 Liverpool, City will win the second leg 3-1 or something.

Yeah I think you could probably make a case for any kind of result , both tonight and over the tie. If city were to win by a couple then that’d be about par or if the RS were to blast them tonight and snatch an away goal next week who’d be surprised? I think it could honestly go any way over the tie , I’m just hoping it’s city’s .

The police move the route of the City team bus for safety reasons and the club immediately announce the new route.

That’s responsible......not at all cheap and completely negating the actions of the old bill.
