ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

Injuring police, injuring their own fans, smashing windows of the opposition's bus. What punishment will they get for once again bringing shame upon the relatively decent reputation of UK football fans?

Nothing? That's the most likely outcome. A slap on the wrists and a promise to improve their behaviour in the future. You really have to wonder how much the local police wanted to join in with them, seeing as they were the once to let the fans know in advance that the bus was on its way, etc.

All I keep hearing from their lot is that it was a minority of fans and that it can't be attributed to the club and shouldn't overshadow their game.

Do one! The club openly asked for the welcoming and even Klopp discussed it beforehand: as a result, they must shoulder some of the blame.

Liverpool fans attacked the bus of the opposition - a direct attack at their players. I expect if it happens to them then they'll be so calm - not.

I've no doubt the City fans will be thinking similar this morning.

They all knew what they were doing, it wasn't a minority, it never is a minority because the majority of them endorse what they the so called minority do.

They are an absolute stain of a club, with fans who just haven't got a normal moral mindset like the rest of us.

Trust me, if their bus got tonked like that and they got knocked out 4-3 on agg they'd be crying like little babies and demanding action being taken.

Horrible little rats

Absolutely shameful yet predictable behaviour from the vile creatures across the park. They like to point out our racist chants and bananas from the 80s - 35-odd years ago, and something we are deeply ashamed of - forgetting that in 2018 they're smashing windows of opposition buses and injuring policemen. Are they ashamed of their actions? You can bet your bottom dollar when they get Bayern in the next round they'll be doing the same intimidation tactics. And you can bet Bayern will bottle it just like City did yesterday. Only side who can put them out over two legs imo is Barcelona. If they get to the final, God help us.

Yep the police basicslly endorsed it by giving tjem a heads up of where to brick the bus. Tossers

Bloody crap .

I'm dreading next Wednesday in work now, today will be manageable but next week with a derby win and semi finals?

Just hope for a defensive display next week and city to pass it through them all game.

God help us Saturday though. Sorely tempted to put a bet on the kopites just to lessen the blow. That way it a a win win.

I hope you're right. But I wouldn't take it for granted after that tonight. Whats needed is a team who don't capitulate after conceding a goal. City have done this before at the pit. It was no surprise. A bit like when we play there.
City was a derby for them. City are a better team but Liverpool had the passion and City bottled it.

Barcelona, Madrid and Bayern dont do bottling.

their best performance for years overshadowed by knobs throwing bottles at the city coach, bet the daft sods who were there think there some type of super ultra fans as well, something deeply wrong with the mindset of some of there fans, worst thing about it they actually cant see what they are a cult, not normal, embarrassing and a stain on are city.
you know whats coming Saturday they will accuses are fans of all sort on facebook ,twitter ect to take the heat off themselves.

Think we might have to wait for the final for the karma slap to be administered to this lot. Klopp is following the well worn path for Liverpool managers of being useless in domestic competitions but leading an absolute charmed existence in Europe.

You look at that 11 and wonder how they’re even in the competition let alone probably the semi final. The midfield wouldn’t look out of place if it turned out for Newcastle FFS. Front three aside it’s such an average team.
There'll be no final for Liverpool. ANY of the final three with them in the draw will have way too much for them.

I understand all too well Everton supporters having kittens over this, but there really aren't three other clubs you;d rather have in there with them in the hat for that draw next Friday.

Their season will be over by the end of this month. Guaranteed.

I think Liverpool would beat Madrid or Bayern over two legs. I expect either side fo bottle it at Anfield, and we know Salah is capable of scoring and creating goals against any side. You just have to hope for whoever gets them in the semis to score at least one away goal. I expect Liverpool to lose the away leg against either of the three sides.

Oh, that's ok then.

Typical of Murder Incorporated, always looking to put someone else in the frame for their atrocities.

Haha David Thompson. As if anybody cares what that absolute nobody has to say! He's the RS equivelent of Joey Barton.

BTW, I do hope Radio Merseyside - where he's a match pundit - are going to act on Thompson's accusations concerning Everton fans. Accusations like his cant surely be tolerated?
