ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

He comes across like an unprofessional yob. Ian Kennedy the RM sports boss probably only has him and Jimmy Case to choose from. Hope other media pick this up....but like any RS slurs, it'll be kicked into the long grass.
Just banter....unless it's used against Liverpool fans. Then it's a national issue and someone has to pay the price...usually in blood.

Surely if it's deemed an attack on the players then the result of the game should be called into question?

If the players were shaken up by it then technically it played a part in the result.

They are scum of the earth. There's no depth they won't sink to in order to maintain their delusion. Seriously, attacking the oppositions coach? Who the hell does stuff like that?! I get that it's a minority but the problem is it's a very sizable minority and while the majority don't condone the actions I've yet to see any serious condemnations from them. Yet more pethetic excuses and brush it all under the carpet while waiting for it all to go away. I'd be mortified if our fans were involved with behaviour like that and I'd make no excuses for it. We as a club certainly wouldn't have clowns like that tithead Thompson making "jokes" about such a serious issue. They are an absolute embarrassment to this city.

Christ, been listening to Talksport and the shows pretty much about the disgraceful antics of the klan over the park. Every single shoite fan phoning in so far has toed the party line saying it was unacceptable behaviour. Then comes the next word "but" and they justify it in the most bellendry way possible, one lad said I was right there and it was 2 to 3 lads who were drinking bottles and cans and coke who got a bit over excited and threw them at the coach, there was no ale involved. Quickly shot down by Jim White the next whopper comes on saying its called the "welcoming committee" and has been going for over 20 years, and in that time theres never been any problems blah, blah, blah....

Constant BS, downright lies, fanaticism, mob mentality, persecution complex, all in all a cult.

The Klanfield Ticklist

The group is elitist, claiming a special, exalted status for itself, its leader(s) and members (for example, the leader is considered the Messiah, a special one.
The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. This may result in members' participating in behaviors or activities they would have considered reprehensible or unethical before joining the group being.
Mind-altering practices (such as chanting,) are used in excess and serve to suppress doubts about the group and its leader(s)
The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader.
The group has a polarized us-versus-them mentality, which may cause conflict with the wider society.
Members are expected to devote inordinate amounts of time to the group and group-related activities.
The group is preoccupied with bringing in new members.
‪The group is preoccupied with making money.

It’s bang out of order for Merseyside Police to allow that to happen though. When you think about it they’re basically admitting they can’t and won’t guarantee the safety of opposing teams travelling to or from a game, and what’s worse is they actually legitimised it through publicising the route beforehand in expectation of a gathering. The club and police could have come down hard in a preemptive statement not condoning those types of gatherings but then we all know that really they got exactly what they wanted with a Liverpool win and City rattled for the first half, Pep clustered, and City’s prematch prep disrupted.

Absolutely disgraceful from Merseyside Police and that scum football club.

Fully agree with most of that but the last part? I mean their coach was hit with a few tins of Strongbow mixed fruit ffs not an RPG. City started much the better side and had the game under control with little resistance until a combination of an offside and Kyle Walker being a bit dim saw them 1-0 down. To blame the bus incident for the first half is pure outrage culture at it's finest but then we are a species of massive fannies these days.

Just been watching a report on this on Spanish tv here. They showed the scenes from outside (including the flare alight on the roof of the bus) and then Guardiola's sarcastic "thank you for protecting us" when they got off and then he said "Ashamed".
Bullets in the post!!!

Hardly mentioned the football apart from Guardiola blaming the referee for it all, which was amusing because all he needed to add was "because he's a nasty Spanish proto-fascist who disagrees with my yellow ribbon that is supporting mega rich corrupt freedom fighters".

i seriously don't understand their reasoning. I'm sorry but it was well publicised what they were planning to do before the match, the police were made aware of it. They issued a laughable statement saying "don't do it" which was obviously ignored and the end result is two coppers get injured.

Lol at waiting until after the comps over to punish them

Least they’ve actually been charged. Imagine any other incidents between now and then. They’ve already got a terrible hit sheet from their run in the Europa League so will be interesting to see if Uefa come down hard for repeat offences.
