Strange one this.

Why would he walk at this precise moment in time, with Rome 48 hours away?

The RS statement says it is for “personal” reasons.

To me, that can only mean bereavement or ill health or some scandal in the background.

The original reporting looked like it was hinting at more of a clash but I agree the stepping away would hint , as you say , at family issues which should obviously be private . The only other possibility is that they’re trying to control the fallout by saying it’s a break rather than quitting .

Reds ITK said he's 100% not coming back. The personal reasons are to try and fan the flames. Fans are comparing it to when Benitez's no2 left and they went down hill after that. Hope history repeats.

Massive for them, honestly thought with his £80mill release clause that teams would be trying to buy him. From the clubs POV though, everytime someone signs a new deal they're off.

The fact nobody triggered it speaks volumes. Spending another £5m a year on his wages, Salah will demand parity, that's another £5m. Mane too.

Effectively the extra revenue from big stand has been wiped out. The debt mountain increases every day...

it's so strange, I am genuinley stunned reading the news today that they are split up (makes them sound like they are married, but you know what I mean :p ), I can't imagine one without the other.

It reads like Liverpool just trying to use an excuse now to get to the end of the season, and then in the summer it becomes more clear. They have always had their arguments because both of them are very strong minded and volatile in football circumstances, but they never let it hang over them. But Buvac has not semed right for a while now. Like soemthing is going on there. Anyway, from a purely supportive Dortmund fan point of view, I hope he is ok.
