ECHO Comment: "Fears of Witch-hunt Against Liverpool FC"

the brains thing comes from something Klopp said himself ages ago in an interivew, and it got picked up on. He said that Zeljko was the brains of the team and Peter Krawietz was the eyes of the team. I kinda saw it as typical Klopp downplaying his role in a way, something he's done a lot, he loves giving his assistants credit.

But Buvac is an outstanding coach. I think the deal is, is that of course both he and Klopp have very much the same ideas about football and how it should be played, but Buvac is the one who transfers their ideas onto the pitch. He is like the academic of the pair, the one who puts it on paper and then onto the pitch. He's the one in the training sessions who will actually place players where they need to be to carry out their patterns of play.

It would remain to be seen how either does without the other I would say. As they've not worked a lot apart. Buvac did work as a head coach for a while, but at lower league level in Germany before going back to Mainz to be assistant coach to Klopp.

I honestly have no idea if he would make the step up into the limelight well. But he is a superb coach, he is like a football encyclopedia.
Football encyclopaedia you say. We have lots of this type on here.

I'd be shocked if Buvac has left the rs to go and prepare to take over Arsenal. Just the timing of it before a massive game you wouldn't expect from someone apparently so close to slackjaw sally.
Unless.......the rs got wind of it and lobbed him on gardening leave but want to keep it quiet

Burst out laughing in an office full of Kopites when on the radio the head of the police come on and said Liverpool fans will be alright. As long as they follow the rules....
I heard that too and smiled to myself.
I'm sure the Arma die Carabiner will stick to their rules☺

Seen all the roma players trained today in “forza sean” tops

Nice gesture
Liverpool pasting Sean's face onto a job lot of Free Suarez t-shirts to catch some praise.

I joke of course and hope the lad is on the mend. How is he getting on?

Or as the bookies would say... free money from stupid people...

Yes there is always speculation and bookies will try and make easy money if they can, the source has been right before with Klopps appointment in 2015 and that's probably why so many punters think it has some credibility, maybe worth it at long odds but not now.

Liverpool fan's warning after being 'attacked with metal bar' in Rome.

A Liverpool fan who was ‘attacked with a metal bar’ in Rome has issued a warning to supporters travelling for the Champions League semi-final.

Carl Johnson, from Prescot , is one of at least 5,000 Liverpool fans who’ve travelled to the Italian capital ahead of the Reds’ second leg clash with Roma on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old says that he was attacked with a metal bar while walking back to his hotel with his friend Peter Saunders, 29, at around 10.30 last night after leaving The Drunken Ship Pub.

So far it appears to be an isolated incident, and fans in Rome have reported a ‘great’ atmosphere with no violence so far.

Neither Peter or Carl were wearing anything which could identify them as Liverpool supporters and at this point it is not clear whether the attack was football related.

Carl told the ECHO: “We came out of the pub at around 10.30. Not many Liverpool fans were out so the two of us were on the way back to the hotel.

“We got a few hundred yards from the hotel which is on Violo Del Gallo and two scooters came out of nowhere. The two passengers on the back got off and attacked us, one had a small metal bar.

“We tried to fight back but the drivers got off. We ran off.”

Luckily for Carl, he received only minor bruising from the incident, however he contacted the ECHO in the hope of warning other fans to stay safe and in large groups.

He added: “We were wearing no LFC colours or clothing. We both had jeans and dark coloured jackets.

“I would just like to warn people to stay in numbers. It seems like the only way these cowards don’t attack.”

Despite the incident, Carl and Peter have said there’s a “great” atmosphere in Rome, and that the vast majority of fans have been polite and friendly.
