I sincerely hope all the Reds get home from their trip to the Helmand Province in good health

I like versatility in the midfielder and Gerrard was a complete package, Roy Keane was good too but not as good. Yaya Toure at his peak was beast. But given a long period of time and influence in the team, in terms of winning trophies, late goals, crucial goals in finals, leading the team, getting the best out of other players, especially strikers, it has to be Gerrard, by a mile. Just wish he played for Manchester red.
Toure played in possibly the greatest team ever . Keane was utd’s driving force in the greatest period in there history. But yeah Gerrard was better. All of that isn't close to being true.
Defo mate. It goes without saying I hope they're safe. The climate both last week and this week though would have been primed by how Liverpool supporters outside the ground have been trying to intimidate teams - people who wont have to face the music in Rome. This is the problem though, innit
One the one hand it is pathetic how they are cowering and begging Plod to help them after the way they disgraced themselves at the last two home games.
Hard man Ultras indeed
But on the other hand I have two nephews away over and we are concerned about them
I am sure others on there have family members or friends in Rome right now.
Is that because you're a rs mate?I have my reasons, I think most valuable opinion is of peers and it is biased towards Gerrard
Loving the analogy.Remember how painful the slippy G season was? Utter torture for months and then the most unbelievable amazing climax.
It was like not having a wank for 12 months and ending it by smashing Kelly Brooke.
You have to go through the lows to enjoy the highs and when Roma / Madrid leather them and a load of their fans get herded into a Rome colosseum and made to fight lions live on Sky sports news , the high is going to be something else.
That's because the previous ban wasn't their fault. It was a result of all English teams behaving badly. From RAWK, (their hypocrisy knows no bounds) -
A ban on all Italian teams is just punishing those well behaved for the actions of a tiny few at clubs who are not. For example, imagine we got a european ban for the violence at the Everton v Lyon game this season. Or an English club ban for the behaviour of Chelsea fans at european aways - line in France for example. - some kopite belter
and
But it still doesn't solve the fact that stance likely sees Liverpool being banned from Europe because of what Chelsea & Everton fans are doing, for example. And I am not sure a ban from Europe makes the Chelsea fans any less racist. It just means europe gets a temporary reprieve from having to deal with them. - some other hypocritical kopite belter
Well hey, no mention of throwing bottles at an opposing team coach driving through thousands of their own fans. No danger of a bottle hitting a kid, or a fan. No mention of one hitting the driver of the coach (even though the front window was smashed in) and him careering into all the fans causing carnage. Just a part of those special nights at anfield I suppose. That's because the previous ban wasn't their fault. It was a result of all English teams behaving badly.
Let me give you an example. Those naughty Everton fans who were playing football with the Dutch police. Plod was distracted from doing their jobs. If you stop seeing the world through blue-tinted glasses you would conclude that Everton fans were more to blame than Liverpool fans for the ban.

Fair play to Roma putting "Forza Sean" on their training tops. Touch of class that, like it was when they visited the Hillsborough memorial before the first leg.
its nothing new for them
Fiorentina 2008 away for Everton
= warnings of us bringing hundreds of hooligans to wreck the place and panic in there media . Resulting in an alcohol ban in Florence and pubs closed who ignored it with heavy handed policing.
No trouble of great note happening besides what the police caused.
Fiorentina v Liverpool a year or 2 later
= the city of Florence laid out the red carpet and hospitality ( big media story over here) and the plastic sheeting on the away end being removed for this one game .
