Been asked if I can steward the Echo Arena Saturday night (they are showing the game in there for the whoppers who are not tellyclapping at home). Two possible outcomes :

(to be read in the drawling Sunderland accent of the fella off 'Big Brother ')

1. They win and I'm subjected to hordes of out of town knobheads crowing about it and slagging Everton. I Windmill raar into them, spark a few and end up getting arrested.

2.They lose and I'm subjected to hordes of out of town knobheads bitching about it and slagging Everton. I Windmill raar into them, spark a few and end up getting arrested.

Who goes?

We are all flapping, of course we are, they are one game away from winning the CL, and we all know how spawny they can be, and how they have won it with a worse side.

But I keep reminding myself, if they are in the final, who is the one team, the only team you would want in the final, and the answer can only be: Real Madrid. It’s the competition they dominate, 12 time winners, won 3 of the last four, one game away from winning three on the bounce and putting themselves into football immortality.

In fact since it became the CL, they haven’t lost a single final. They are the ultimate big game team with world class players all over the park, and one of the greatest players of all time playing up front, who just happens to love the big occasion. As well as Ronaldo, they have the likes of Bale, Benzema, Isco and Asensio to name just a few, the shaky RS defence will have to keep quiet.

Yes, they could win it, but if we are being rational, and logical, Real Madrid really should be making it 13.

It's not important - £1 at 13/10 outright. If I was doing it to make money I'd shop around but I fully hope to burn the offending item come Saturday night in some ritual war dance around the house... or whatever else I feel like doing before I attack the drinks cabinet (whatever the result).

Sounds like we should do an old fashioned Everton flags out the window drive past if the game goes the right way.. or maybe not given that those flagstones are listed

If Real score first they will win,using their experience and keeping the ball with the tandem of Kroos and Modric dictating and keeping the ball at will and tiring out the RS and then picking them off at will up front.

The first goal will be the winner.
