Player Valuation: £500k
UEFA have set a precident now.

Platini has gone too far this time!!

How many europeans are gonna 'deceive the ref' during the Champions League and the Europa Cup and not get charged?

This fella hates the English and everything about the English game.

Its a disgrace. I hate this going on and anyone caught diving should be sent off. Things like this could cost a club millions by getting knocked out of a competition by some slimy little rat who should be slapped purple.

Agree, he probably gone to far this time, but don't think it is because he hates the English. Also deceiving the ref, isn't a strictly European desease anymore. More to the point, how often has someone like Gerrard or Owen deceived the ref? It's just about setting the standards in my eyes. Eduardo isn't such a high profile name like the earlier mentioned Gerrard and Arsenal don't have the same status amongst UEFA and FIFA, as the RS clearly has.

Tbh, don't mind them looking to clamp down on this 'deceiving', but make sure the same rule applies for everyone.

He cheated and has been found out. Hopefully this will set a precedent and all future divers will be punished in a similar way.

They wont tho, thats why its such a farce.

I have no problem with clamping down on cheating, but that clown Ronaldo has made a career out of it, I bet nothing is ever done about him.

And when is a dive a dive? If you get clipped, but you make a meal of it, is that a dive?

Can of worms for me.

I'd think there are dives and there are dives. Some are so blatant that it should be easy enough to detect but I agree that there is a whole range of different types of dive. It bugs me for instance that players will happily continue running whilst having their shut pulled all the way into the penalty area but once inside it all becomes too much and they fall over. That to me is a dive. As is seeking out the goalie or the defender to ensure you fall over them. Gone are the days when you'd look to hurdle the tackle if you could. Something needs to be done doesn't it?
