Yesterday after about 12 minutes when vic was through on goal and was brought down by williams, there should have been a red card. however, it was very refreshing to see none of our player surrounding the ref and hounding him waving imaginary cards that does seem custom of our beautiful game at the moment. it's a competitive sport where you have to beat whats in front of you and although we seem to get a lot of wrong decisions against us, we just get on with it and this is where everton should be really respected in the world of football and looked up to.
if that had been the RS in that situation, you will no doubt have seen suarez running up to ref screaming at him before he even brandished a card. soon we will have no officials left to officiate games if players are constantly undermining their ability to do their job. williams' tackle was a definite red but after it wasn't given we just got on with it and produced a brilliant display. a brilliant display which was dished out just a few days after we had been robbed by more poor officiating, but instead of dwelling on it too much, we came straight out of the blocks and could have been 2 or 3 up within the first 10 mins.
THAT ladies and gentlemen is called respect and how the game should be played. a mirror contrast is watching chelsea vs stoke on MOTD with two terrible attempts at a dive for penalties (defended by the manager as well!). if you can't win fairly, why should you be allowed to play the sport again if you try and do so by cheating?
it's why i love everton so much, we've have plenty of injustices in the last 10 years but we don't go on and on about it, fantastic performance last night toffees, great stuff to watch.
