Cant blame Thelwell etc on this one, though I’ve seen a few keen to try. The blame really lies with those higher up. Their dreadful running of the club has meant we can’t slap much of a downpayment down, and we look a completely unappealing prospect after two back to back relegation battles.

From what I can tell, Thelwell, Purdy and Dyche are doing all they can this summer with what little they’ve got. Does feel like it’s been forever since we spent money on an permanent transfer though.

The Danish lad will likely move to United leaving Toure as probably their main attacking option and when they have EL next season compared to our season which will likely be a mid table slog at the most, it's unsurprising that we wouldn't be his first choice.

If its true that Atalanta previously had a bid accepted, why would they have increased their offer unless they knew that the lad was leaning towards Everton?

Think this is pretty much it. If and it’s a pretty big if DCL manages to stay fit he’s likely to be on the bench whereas Atalanta are about to sell their main striker so you would have thought he will be first choice there.

Not too sure that we aren't an attractive prospect like some are saying as we are in the premier League that most players want to play in to either just get in the league or be able to sell themselves to even bigger clubs. If it was us against another premier league club then yeah probably not as attractive but us against a team from other leagues (apart from obvious big clubs) and we've got a shout.

Is there any proof we actually made an offer? Read somewhere this morning we enquired that was it, his agent said player wanted Italy due to having some family there?
