My main worry is the EBT interest came about at least 6 weeks ago from that journo on twitter!
Its took that long to finally resolve the issue, how long will it take to sort out the plan b?

Coady and McNeil took us about a day to do the deals. I’d imagine Che Adams would be a similarly quick resolution.

It may not be about money , I would imagine that was agreed with the agent previously.
I expect it is the manager trying to convince the player and hopefully the lure of the premiership.

Maybe, but an agent briefing out “my client’s on the brink of signing for x” is usually a play for more money from y.

Even if a salary was broadly agreed if the agent has two clubs to play off against each other it’s his job to get them trying to top one another.

Atalanta’s top earner is 60k so our wage structure should beat theirs, so it’s a matter of how much he’s willing to turn down if he wants Europe with them etc, or if the agent can get Atalanta to bust their wage structure. All in the game.

This all seems quite credible as we do have a reputation for identifying a player and then pursuing him until the end of time.

Would be nice if they actually made the move to buy players like this when they are £8m instead of when they have a €40m release clause!
