My latest remix release on Lost Language Records!

Got another coming out on friday on Pure Trance as well! 🙌

I may have asked previous, but what are you using to remix with?
Why select the initial track you did and what direction did you want to take it (from original or another version?)
Do you listen to a track and consider what it would mix well with? building a 'set' so to speak?
If you could have made just one track (trance) that was all yours and then unleashed on the world - which one?

I set fire to that 'quid pro quo' lark pretty handy eh. Bit of Tuesday afternoon musing...

Ableton Live plus a load of 3rd party plugins/synths. Spire, Sylenth, Serum, a load of the Valhalla DSP plugins (Vintage verb etc.)

I was commissioned by the label owner (Ben Lost) and he wanted something that had a 'Lost Tribe - Gamemaster (Signum Remix)' vibe to it with a modern twist.

That's usually an afterthought unless I am working on something specifically for a set.
I have always been a producer/musician first before DJ.

Verracocha - Carte Blanche
That melody, man! 😮‍💨🙌

Ferry and Vincent, PHWOAR! Gatecrasher, early 2000's, carte blanche thrown on by AVB, the place went stratospheric! That moment when those that knew it heard it enter the fray. DY-NO-MITE!

I found a Signum I didn't know recently, here it is...

Ben Lost - nice pal to have. I look forward to more mixes, and your takes on more reimaginings.

Don't think so, sadly - quite a rarity to get a vinyl release these days :(

He played it on his weekly show and it was his Big Tune for the week. Which I'm rather chuffed about!

@ 32 mins, it's an edited down version.

Who owns the rights to it? Where was the bootleg? Also, how long did it take to create?

Well it's Solarstones track, so the rights are his.
The Bootleg is not online anywhere. It's basically the same as what has been released only a little rougher sounding. I had to sample the chillout version for the vocals, he sent me the stems (solo multitracks) for the release version. Took a few weeks to finish all in all.

Thrillseekers was giving a sampler kit away for pennies a couple of Fridays ago. Did you study to do this (and have you music training)

Yeah the 'Hydra - Altered States' one. I got that when the album came out (It's bloody brilliant if you haven't heard it)
The sample pack is not that great though. Just a few of the percussion loops from the album and all the midi files.

I took Music at GCSE level at school and hated it. This was in the 90's when most of the classes revolved around learning to read and write music manuscript and learning all the italo words (Knowing your arco from your pizzicato) and that didn't interest me in the slightest, I just wanted to make music. SO I pretty much flunked. However I did learn enough about music theory and some basic piano skills to 'get the bug' and continue.
All the technical stuff, production/sound design is self taught. Hours and hours of tweaking knobs to see what they do (ooh matron), reading books on the subject and many, many Youtube vids.
