Herself.
Weird thing is she's bang into Detroit techno. She's just said to me 'I didn’t know it'd be all this stuff. I was like, its 'kin Ministry of Sound, wtf were you expecting girl??!!
I had one great night out at Ministry of Sound years ago. Me and @Maxwell went to see Skream (I think), I took far too much MDMA and I made a bit of a mess of myself. Lost my wallet too but a bouncer found it and took the piss out of my accent in a bantery way.

The security was a bit intense. Like an airport. Probably gives you an idea of the kind of people that go regularly. Although to be fair Fabric's was similar, and that's a truly great club.

Great night that.

Funny thing is I actually work with Ministry of Sound (the venue, not the label) now and went for a tour of the club a few month ago, which was my first time back since that fateful Skream night.

I saw Sean Johnson/ A Love From Outer Space last night in a club in Manchester called The Loft. Everything was spot on, the sound, the crowd, the slow chuggy tunes that never went above 121bpm. Full of people in their 40s/50s letting rip on their one night out a year. Restored the faith a bit.

That actually sounds pretty nice. I like the slower stuff a bit more these days. Don’t they have a Dolby Atmos system in there? I’ve heard very good things about it.

Did you bump in to someone you knew in there that Skream night? I’ve got a hazy memory of chatting absolute garbage to a girl who I definitely didn’t swap numbers with. Think it was the first time we’d met, too. What an introduction lol

To be fair, I went a couple of times in the early 90s when it was very much that NY house/garage sound, which although it wasn't my thang they were good nights, lots of very pretty girls. Tony Humphries stood out, think I saw Roger Sanchez as well.

That thing on Friday was very much the commercial, pop trance, 'Annuals' mixed by Boy George, Robert Miles 'Children' and Dreamer on every compilation crud. Awful. House music equivalent of Coldplay fans thinking they're into indie.

We nearly went to a Ibiza classical thing like that last year. It was with some of my gf work mates. She started with 'it will be nice', then convinced herself that for a few months and then luckily chickened out in buying the tickets lol

And it was like £50

The only thing worse than that Robert Miles song is the cringe ‘cover’ that came out this year.

Yeah, that thing wasn't cheap either. The orchestra barely got a look in as well, once or twice they let it breathe a bit but mostly it was just like hearing the records, really disappointing.
