@longers what do you make of this? Don’t listen to much new breaks as I always think the drums sound too clean and they’re over produced but this is decent.
New Four Tet LP is a delight.
I quite like his newer stuff but this is definitely a return to the sound of Pause and Rounds so I reckon you should enjoy this.That track gives me a bit of hope I might like it. I still consider his early downtempo work to be his best by far and have been secretly hoping he ditches the more normie house/dance style tracks he's been doing for past few years.
Haven’t heard Hidden Agenda in ages. They just kind of vanished. I was living in Newcastle early 2000s and saw one of them dj once. You’d have thought they’d have played all the time.I don't mind it but to my ears it's pretty standard mid 90s jungle only with more modern sounding mixdowns.
Id rather just dig out my old Photek, Source Direct, Hidden Agenda records.
Still quite cool that jungle has basically made a bit of a mini comeback (albeit rebranded), not something I saw coming !
