Electronic music thread

Four Tet is probably top of the a 'music person i should, but don't' list. Find him so boring and that's seeing him live/DJ a few times too.

I don't dislike him him really, just get bored.

I like most of his stuff but i still prefer his early work when he wasn't on the dance music tip

feels like he's a little less unique sounding and a bit more generic nowadays, although as mentioned i still rate him

I used to feel the same and I still have an appreciation for his older stuff. That Unspoken you just linked used to be a firm favourite of mine. I particularly like Parks and You Could Ruin My Day from his first album. Overall I prefer his new stuff, but that may be slightly influenced by the absolute state I’ve got myself to in to when watching him live over the last few years.

He’s very much a live artist now. His productions are good but he is excellent live.

I’m not a huge fan of his DJ sets. They’re a bit too eclectic for me and he always seems to play one awful song. However his essential mixes over the years have been good, particularly the one with Jamie xx.

The last two live shows I went to with the lighting are two of the best shows I’ve ever been to.

We're the live shows quite recent? I saw him a few years ago. I think my favourite period of his was when he went a bit pirate radio-y a few years ago.
