Find it a bit of a concern that he’s going to a lower table League One club in all honesty. It’s indicative of the huge jump he needs to make if he is to become a regular here, especially as he’s now 20.
I don't. Blackpool have an ambition to make the play offs. They have a manager with a good track record at youth level. It's his first senior football. I think league one is a good league for that.

Maybe Ellis can do this at the end of the season as Seamus did after a mere 10 games for the Tangerines ;)

'Never saw him again'

Coleman played about 10 games for Blackpool and has since totaled nearly 300 games for Everton and has been Captain of the side the last couple of years.
2 years when he was inbox pomp - lost, but hey ho Tony Hibbert coming to the end of his career .....extend his contract .......

Dads army rules at EFC yet again Coleman's years were a waste as he had it in him every fan could see that .....DM the shirt was his after a great game v Spurs etc we never give youth a chance playing expensive donkeys like Tosun hey ho..... we sign older players past their best on long lucrative contracts - then wonder why we cannot get rid so dispense with Simms as Unsy rated him as the next Michael Owen who scores for fun ......
Josh Bowler wants away - we lack pace in the midfield, so we sign Delpth Mr sick note.... so on it goes it's not Carlo it's the DOF scrap that post as it's not working........ we had a USA left back plus Lookman sold for a mere 15 million ..... youth imo is being despatched to save on deadwood.... we ain't going to get rid of.....
A bit like Dowell, who has gone to Championship side Norwich and appeared in less than half their games, starting just 4 times in 24 games. Liam Walsh was the next big thing and now can't get a game for Bristol City either. Ryan Ledson likewise can't get a game at Preston at the moment. George Green is god knows where. Hallum Hope is scrabbling around in League One.

The only two that have gone away and made it to the PL are Lundstram and Robinson, and both are plying their trade in the bottom half of the table so aren't really the kinds of players who would make us better. Our academy is rubbish.

Crikey that's a difficult one to digest.

At the end of the day mate, Tosun is better than Simms so there's no way he's going to be given a chance ahead of him. He's going on loan to League 1 club, not like other Prem sides are desperate to see him play in this league.

Bowler struggled at Hull last season, Robinson looks OK but doesn't get ahead of Digne or even Godfrey at LB and Lookman was given plenty of chances to succeed but couldn't take them + plus we made a tidy profit on him.
Bowler found it hard to displace a winger who West Ham signed in the summer .....for big money Bowen .....

George Green plays for them.

Our catchment area is insane, we have Liverpool and the 2 Manchester clubs in our area, so sadly we don't have unfettered access to the best talent.

That rubbish two titles .......under Unsy anyone he has recommended we either don't see or they go out on loan .......

I always regard gaining England honours as a mark of success as a player, and in the near 30 years of the PL era, our academy graduates have earned just 160 England caps. If you strip out Rooney and Barkley, that number falls to 7. In total we've had 6 academy players in 30 years go on to earn an England cap. Our academy is just a bit rubbish.

For sure. We also probably offer youngsters a slightly easier route to the first team than either of those 3 clubs as well, but we don't really capitalise on that (call it the Dortmund effect if you like). Compare our success with our own youngsters to those like Stones, Holgate, Branthwaite et al that we buy in as young players. There are around 300 players currently in the Academy, and I would be absolutely staggered if more than 1 or 2 make 100 appearances for us, let alone have a substantial England career.
