Scary prices. Winter going to be carnage. Not seen my rise yet, when do we get told our increase on the bill?

I'm banking as much credit with my provider right now. Thankfully I'm not much of a heater person even in Winter so that shouldn't be an issue. This will likely force me to go back into the office 5 days to keep the leccy bill down.

And we all laughed at @Joey66 with his wife burning stove.
Coal gone up for the first time in ages - smokeless only not by 80 percent though ..around 20 percent - I had 2 tons delivered two weeks ago runs 8 radiators plus all the hot water we need .....but
Install use gas to cook plus electricity so My bills will go up - but winter will not bother us ...,.

I also burn dry kiln logs & recycled sawdust logs if homee bargains stock them - the guy next door has had a heat pump installed.'..... the engineer told me they don't work that well......

This is a killer for 20 percent of the public & any industry & we sit on black gold ...'Germany have decided to open some coalmines - Poland have over 300 operating & their coal is shale coal very poor coal .....it's their main industry...,.
Her statement North sea gas would last for ever seems so futile now ........

The green aim in the future is obtainable at a cost investment should have happened when Thatcher closed our coal mines .....

They will still ramp up the standing charges per day.

Yeah, that's the thing. I don't really think you'll save loads by not using the heating in the day etc.

The most effective thing will probably just have your house 2 degrees lower or so that normal, on a consistent basis. Plus no using heating (or letting the house go cold, to warm, to cold etc) brings a lot of health issues too

Which? Have estimated gas prices will be £0.15 kwh. Electricity £0.52 kwh. These are for direct debit customers, so anyone on prepayment probably gets hammered more.

Take your estimated usage and times it by the above and you'll get a sense of it.

Basically my gas bills look set to double based on that.

Ha, yeah, I've deliberately brought a few jumpers in the sale so I can layer up. It's not like I have the thermostat on mega high anyway.

Absolute travesty of long term policy failure to secure energy supplies cheaply, securely and sustainably. Also a failure to invest in infrastructure such as insulation.

We were asked to put our direct debit up now to build a credit, but I was reluctant to as you never know what may happen to the energy companies.

We’ve roughly estimated what our monthly bill will be and have started putting extra aside: we’ll gain interest on it and pay the arrears quarterly.
