Hence the Glasgow time thingYes the Scottish farmers were the main complainants...
If it was done would it save energy cost ?Hence the Glasgow time thing
Edit;
East / West governs when you get daylight
North / South governs how much you get.
Move it round how you like, in the Scottish winter you're not getting much, be it at 7am or 9am
It may do, but who knows by how much...But something must be done - and seen to be done.If it was done would it save energy cost ?
TBH if itsaves energy plus the pain of altering the clocks twice a year ?It may do, but who knows by how much...But something must be done - and seen to be done.
iirc, the big keruffle was kids going to school in the dark and getting run over.
Anyway it was universally panned, lasted 1 year, so there'd have to be big energy savings to make it worth the bother
Not that that will stop them if they get the idea fixed in their heads
I live in Queensland now and don't have daylight saving, all the rest on the E coast do...eg Sydney (NSW) and Melbourne (Vic), which, like London, think the whole Country revolves around them.TBH if itsaves energy plus the pain of altering the clocks twice a year ?
They tried to force smart meters on to us too.. I keep saying no and please don't ask again. Tbf they haven't asked for a few years now.When we used to have an energy meter in the house, about 10 years ago, my dad used to have a little trick to put a long pin through the side and it stopped the wheel from turning. lol Unfortunately it all came to a halt when the smart meters were forced on us. We'd put the pin in when using the washing machine or for a few hours here and there to keep the costs down. If only that were still an option.
Anyone plugged into the street lights yet?When we used to have an energy meter in the house, about 10 years ago, my dad used to have a little trick to put a long pin through the side and it stopped the wheel from turning. lol Unfortunately it all came to a halt when the smart meters were forced on us. Lol I worked with a bloke who did this, first he did his Neighbour as they shared the same loft, he got caught and sent down for it, later on he did it with the street lighting and got caught for that, said he didn't mind getting caught as it saved on his electric while he was inside.Anyone plugged into the street lights yet?
Asking for a friend!!
