Energy saving tips

If it was done would it save energy cost ?
It may do, but who knows by how much...But something must be done - and  seen to be done.

iirc, the big keruffle was kids going to school in the dark and getting run over.
Anyway it was universally panned, lasted 1 year, so there'd have to be big energy savings to make it worth the bother
Not that that will stop them if they get the idea fixed in their heads

TBH if itsaves energy plus the pain of altering the clocks twice a year ?

Blimey.

Cos we are not on the mains gas grid, we might be eligible for up £25000 of energy saving measures. Fella coming soon to do a EPR thing, if thats under/over what it has to be, they assess what they can do to improve the place.

I have no idea how good or bad our energy use is, so if its Good, sound, and if its Bad, sound, cos it will be improved, gratis.

*turns everything on*

When we used to have an energy meter in the house, about 10 years ago, my dad used to have a little trick to put a long pin through the side and it stopped the wheel from turning. lol Unfortunately it all came to a halt when the smart meters were forced on us. We'd put the pin in when using the washing machine or for a few hours here and there to keep the costs down. If only that were still an option.

I live in Queensland now and don't have daylight saving, all the rest on the E coast do...eg Sydney (NSW) and Melbourne (Vic), which, like London, think the whole Country revolves around them.

Studies have shown there are major physical disruptions, especially in heart attacks and car crashes for a week after each change.

True there is a big anti Syd/Melbourne component in Qlds opposition, but it's such a dog whistle subject, no politician...of any stripe...will even answer throw away questions on the possibility of even talking about it. As they know whatever they say they will automatically [Poor language removed] 50% of  All voters across the board.

tbh, I don't miss it.

They tried to force smart meters on to us too.. I keep saying no and please don't ask again. Tbf they haven't asked for a few years now.

Current smart meters are a complete joke, they run on 2g/3g which will be defunct in a couple of years and will all need replacing again. But i bet then, they wont be free.

Lol I worked with a bloke who did this, first he did his Neighbour as they shared the same loft, he got caught and sent down for it, later on he did it with the street lighting and got caught for that, said he didn't mind getting caught as it saved on his electric while he was inside.
