Eh, I doubt it'd be "a lot", maybe a tenner for the most extreme case - yeah, it's more than double, but that's per year...That's from 2014 - will be a lot more now given energy costs.

Ah, the Paris Hilton approach - if people are poor they should just GET more money.Fully expect the next tory leader to ask why we can't keep warm by eating cake.

A lot of work to be done mate.I have just moved from a 1 year old new build to a 100 year old house. Great timing.
All of downstairs apart from the kitchen extension is suspended flooring so that is all getting ripped up and insulated. We are getting some cold walls insulated, entire house replastered, some new radiators and then possibly next year getting the entire outside re-rendered. Hoping all that will help heating wise.
Understandable. If it makes a difference, then I'm in![]()
It is mate. Thats just to help heating wise we are also ripping out and redoing the downstairs toilet, main bathroom and ensuite. Also all flooring upstairs is getting taken out and new floors laid. All new doors and frames throughout the house.A lot of work to be done mate.
How do you plan on insulating the suspended floor? And how deep does it go? Out of interest and if you want to share, of course!![]()
I was really going with Marie Antionette with the poiled, wealthy, privileged, out of touch, clueless and feeble attempt to help those beneath her "superiority" of class.Ah, the Paris Hilton approach - if people are poor they should just GET more money.
Active commute. The average car journey in the UK is about 7 miles. That's easily doable on a bike and if you went there and back every day you'd easily save around £400 a year (more if your car isn't fuel efficient). Plus you get fit. Similarly, if you're driving to the shops or dropping your kids at school etc. consider if you can walk there. 56% of all car journeys are less than 5 miles so there are some pretty easy savings.
Think about taking shorter showers and also getting a thermos flask so you boil full kettles each time.
