Several English people were violently assaulted in scotland in 2006 and the "campaign for a English parliament" lobby group are going at the ABE - anyone but England , brand at every opportunity for inciting hatred against the English. and those attacks in 2006 are why the police in scotland are taking it seriously.

Got some welsh relatives and having seen some of the stuff/comments that are Anti-English that is seemingly allowed on BBC wales you can see where its all come from. If it were on tv in England about the scots or welsh they'd be up in arms about it.

Its pretty disgraceful really.

having both scot and welsh relatives some have taken banter - and twisted it beyond all realms.

some on here want to leave the England bashing alone.

Yeah rooney's a ****. but so are loads of scots and welsh.

Boy, 7, attacked in Scotland for wearing England shirt

A seven-year-old football fan punched in the head by a racist thug because he was wearing an England top vowed today to continue to support his soccer heroes.
Hugo Clapshaw was enjoying a kick-around with his father in Edinburgh at the weekend when a man shouted abuse and lashed out with his fists.
Lothian and Borders Police today branded the attack "cowardly and pathetic" and Scottish politicians joined in the condemnation.
His father, Damon Clapshaw, a 34-year-old finance worker originally from New Zealand who now lives in Edinburgh, said: "Hugo decided to support England as there wasn't really much choice.
"He might decide next week to support Argentina, it's not about race, he's just a kid.
"But he's not going to let this mindless thug put him off supporting England."
The incident happened on Saturday afternoon in Inverleith park as Hugo, his father, mother Kirsty, 35, sister Lily, four, and seven-month-old Skye enjoyed a family day out.
Out of the blue, the man ran towards Hugo, who was on his scooter, and punched him. Mr Clapshaw confronted the man but he too was punched to the ground and kicked. A passing motorist screamed from her car and the man ran off.

There's nothing wrong with the ABE, its a common celtic thing. I've never once had a problem with it in any of the countries, the problem seems to stem once again from the English being just such poor sports. That's central to this and why England is disliked by all of her neighbours.

It's a bit of harmless pisstake, why aren't they mentioning the various foreigners I've seen assaulted by English fans for no reason whatsoever?

Chico back in 2006 pensioners and 7 year old kids were being attacked in Scotland.

You might think it a harmless piss take, but obviously others don't

Tell that to the 7 year old kid who was attacked in Scotland - beating up 7 year old kids is such great sport isn't it? And beating up disabled people....

Woman attacked in Scotland ‘because she sounded English’
Police treating incident as racially motivated

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/crime/article5512401.ece
A young woman who comes from England originally has been viciously assaulted in a Scottish city centre in what police are treating as a racially motivated attack.

Lucy Newman, 22, who lived in Cheltenham as a child, claims her male attacker said “Get back to England” before punching her in the face. She was left with serious injuries after the attack last Saturday in Aberdeen.

Ms Newman, who was on a night out with a female friend, said she was hit so hard that she fell, hitting the pavement and fracturing her left cheekbone. The nerves in her eye have also been damaged.

“We had just left a club and were going to catch a bus,” said Ms Newman, a beauty therapist who has lived in Scotland for about 15 years.
We noticed these two older guys alongside us . . . we carried on walking and then heard them saying something about the English, because I’m from England and I do have a twang with some of the things I say.

“He shouted something like, ‘Get back to England’. I turned round, not even thinking that he was speaking to me. I didn’t even get a chance to look at him properly and he just punched me in the face.”

Who said it was mate? Worse things happen in the name of England south of the border at every World Cup but what do you do about that? Ban the St George cross in England itself?

It's such petty [Poor language removed] like this that only increases the dislike of England in the celtic nations as they always want to have their cake and eat it. Seriously, do you think that any of my family or missus will want to assault anyone English because of wearing a T shirt with ABE on it energises them to do so? No matter what they do, Scotland will dislike England and this once again vindicates one of the reasons why.

The reason the other Home Nations hate us is simple, its cos we are better than them, they know it, we know it, hell even Willy Wallace knew it.

The sooner they accept that we are better, the happier everybody will be, its all about knowing your place.

Hahahahaha. And I've only went and goaded your Englishness and pretty every one elses so no cavalry will be forthcoming!

slaps forehead*

Yeah lerd, your pretty much on your own this time, its a dark place out there lad, lets see how you handle the spotlight, plus you got wiki King on your case. Taking him off ignore for this. Wanna see those body shots land.

Back in 2006,
In Aberdeen, Mr Smith who is disabled, was sitting in his parked car on Anderson Road (Aberdeen) when he was dragged from the vehicle and beaten up
Mr Smith is a retired postman originally from Peterborough and has been in Aberdeen for about 12 years.

"He was a psychopath, it was a totally unprovoked racist attack because I was wearing an England top and displaying an England flag."

I'll quote what First Minister Jack McConnell said as I agree with it:
"The first minister's view is the Tartan Army has got a fantastic reputation."
"He thinks these attacks have taken place by mindless thugs. I think there would be a strong suspicion 'are these people real football fans?'"

The Tartan Army joined the criticism of the two attackers
"We have to get a sense of perspective, this is a football tournament, not a re-run of the Battle of Bannockburn or tribal warfare."

EXACTLY THIS. Scotland supporters are better than this. Its rivalry nothing more. Jesus christ my great great grandfather was scottish and I've got a welsh father and some of the above is just cringeworthy.

Its like me going out and bashing a Kopite. I detest their club, but bashing the blerts is not the way. You make them see that Everton are better than them in every way purely because we are. That is the greatest victory.

Simple as that

I knew you'd link me but it doesn't answer anything whatsoever that I stated in my post, there are some knobheads out there, taking an ABE good humoured T shirt off sale doesn't prevent them doing stuff like this, nor does it help. If anything, it will only increase their apathy.

Typical English poor losers, they can give [Poor language removed] but can't take it.

Ask the Scots, the Welsh, the Northern Irish, the Irish, the French and our Aussie cousins. It's a very English characteristic.
